Why isn’t giorgia meloni being lauded as a #girlboss ?

Meloni is an interesting politician, but I am totally with bond yield guy. She has to get Italian sovereign debt spreads under control or she is out in pretty short order. Her key appointment will be her minister of finance.

What if her whole objective is to crash out of the Euro? I can see that happening with this crowd. Chaos is the way for them to advance their ideology.

A Euro exit is not on the table, nor is Italexit. She will let her finance minister deal with the ECB and won't interfere.

It's easier to stay out from the beginning than to issue a bunch of Euro-denominated bonds and then decide to crash out when a fascist-adjacent populist is elected by a plurality.

Denmark and Sweden are also much more stable and fiscally responsible countries than Italy. Their elites are much more level-headed than the Italians.

Okay, well, she has said nothing about dumping the euro so this is really just you arguing with your own imagination.

The left and right make too much noise about meloni because:

The left is mad she believes what she says

The right is thrilled because they think she can actually do stuff on the things she says

Neither political talking head left or right like staring at a Bloomberg terminal all day watching btp price, which is really the only number that matters.

My thing is:

Who cares what she says? She can’t act meaningfully on any of it.

Ignore her. She’s a hypocrite with a bastard and a slave to the bond market.

I dont think the left knows what she is saying. I think they are starting rumors and consuming their own rumors.

No I mean to be fair, thr left is right about meloni’s dogwhosfles.

She’d clearly rather not have brown people and Jewish people in Italy.

And if those groups are in Italy that they are quiet, rich, and don’t really “make themselves heard”

She def doesn’t want to see pride parades in the public open.

Wants abortion restrictions

…..

My point is all of those things are things meloni can say in public daily but are not consequential compared to Italian bond yields, which will dictate the sócio-political-economic-cultural landscape way more

Her favorability among Jews in Italy is high.

The idea that global elite = Jewish is an inherently antisemetic idea. People who hear "jews!" while Meloni talks about tradw policy and national (vs european) identity are the antisemites.

She about to become pm of a g7 country.

Nothing was ever really handed to her. She “leans in”

Interesting that she isn’t being championed as a “girl boss” just because she has different political views

Mind own beezeniz, kepitileast peeg. These eye-tie goombah beach eeze noat worthy of inny such deesetinctions.

Meanwhiles, I hem married to blubbery clown with fat ass like womans. He ease crying heemself to sleep each night. Be Best!

There are like two Jews in Italy.

Because she’s a sexist racist fascist homophobic who doesn’t stand with Ukraine. This is a DC forum and most of us are extremely liberal.

Dumb question. Next.

Funny that you call someone a fascist and then parrot stereotypes about how the more Nordic countries are more “level-headed” than the Italians. Nice dog whistle.

This board seems to stand beside a former Supreme Court justice that said black people should be more appreciative of this country and get out and a president who called our first black president articulate for a black guy, so you’re making a lot of assumptions about the board not like racists.

What you should have said is “MSNBC told me I shouldn’t like this person” and leave it at that. I guarantee you probably never even listened to a single speech she’s made or read a single statement she’s written.

Oh! I have actually! She doxxed a victim of sexual assault in order try to score points about immigration.

Was that the statement you wanted us to read to decide she was super fantastic for women??

She’s a sexist fascist racist xenophobic nationalist insurrectionist, and I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if she was a rapist.
