Teen possibly abducted from party in CA

The million dollar homes are vacation homes. Truckee is just 15 miles from Lake Tahoe and became a popular second home community in the late 90s and early 2000s. The locals are very much blue collar.

I can't help but think of the Elizabeth Smart case. Maybe the couple has her?

The missing couple is not related. They were found deceased in a car crash. https://yubanet.com/regional/accident-at-hwy-20-poker-flats-road-claims-two-lives/

Thank you

It's probable that there were dozens of other girls at the same party doing the same thing who went home safely. A lot of us can say "There but for the grace of God go I" or "That could so easily have been my daughter." So, lets save the victim blaming.

Why do “loving” parents allow this?

New poster here. Are you from another planet? This is what teenagers do! I had conservative strict parents and somehow I made it to so many parties like this where kids were drinking, dancing, doing what teens do. I am so confused by the suggestion that her parents are these negligent freaks. Teens party. It’s kind of a universal, normal thing. She wasn’t a 13-year-old. She is two years away from living fully independently. In many countries around the world, kids at 16 are out working jobs, earning money, close to full independence.

A 16 year old kid out past midnight, getting super drunk, and driving is not “normal,” you nitwit.

Teens party. They always have and they always will. I don’t know how define normal but it’s very very common.

No, it really isn't normal.

Yes, it is. Obviously, I don’t allow my teenagers to drink. My parents did not let me drink in high school. I totally drank in high school and most of the kids I knew did as well. It was every subculture too. The cheerleaders, student council kids, sports kids, the heavy metal kids, the artsy kids, the goth kids, the skaters. All subcultures were represented but within those groups there were kids who did not drink. But many did.

Not just having a drink. Getting drunk and driving alone at the age of 16?

Her mom (?) owns a home worth nearly $2 million dollars but the girl hadn’t had $5k orthodontia (braces). That strikes me as very bizarre.

Her teeth look fine to me. Not perfect, but straight. She doesn’t need braces.

Her “best friend” turned down a ride and made it seem like she was fall down drunk. What a nice friend to let her drive away from or frankly even be alone at a sketchy party in that condition. And the whole no snitching of allegedly 2/3rds of the 300 people at the party tells me that party was full of drug addicts, including a lot of creep men much older than 16.

It’s not clear if the home is owned by the parents or grandparents. One article about the lodge said mom had been a house cleaner and moved to the lodge to help run it when she was a single mom

+1 no place for a 16 year old child

This is a great article about the Lodge and gives background on Lindsey’s family:

I said the same thing, and the person I said it to said, "Or people who let their elderly parents drive and don't take away the keys...." and gave a couple more examples (I forget what now) and I thought, yeah, in reality, is a young teen going to fight her best friend for the keys, or just try a little, then say, "okay but I'm not coming with you"--seems like the latter.

I think she probably crashed somewhere. Very sad.

does anyone know if she had Life360 or an iPhone or if that was turned off? Or if on, what was her last location?

Someone earlier said her battery was dying all night. Her and friend grabbed a quick charge in the car earlier that night. Also, crashing, even in water wouldn’t kill the phone. iPhones have been waterproof for several years. Her phone battery likely just died and she was too drunk to remember to plug it in in the car. Which is unfortunate because that really leaves police with no leads since the trash balls at the party won’t talk to the police.
