Doctors say CDC-backed treatment for kids with inflammatory syndrome linked to coronavirus is ‘highly effective’

"The organization noted that a direct link between coronavirus and MIS-C has not been drawn but that “many children with MIS-C had the virus that causes COVID-19, or had been around someone with COVID-19.” The syndrome has proven deadly in at least a handful of cases, but in the most promising news thus far, the CDC revealed this week that doctors have found a treatment — one that’s not only lessening symptoms, but allowing kids to leave the hospital feeling back to normal.

The drug is what’s known as intravenous immunoglobulin or IVIG, a collection of antibodies that help fight inflammation. To find out more about this treatment, Yahoo Life spoke with two pediatric experts currently immersed in the crisis."

Also, to the person who felt the need to write a facetious post about their hangnail "good news"...
Why taint this thread with silliness? We have 100+ pages of positive and encouraging news, but you felt the need to make a mockery out of all our efforts to keep this uplifting?

Because someone posted that we can’t post “big” news, only “small” news. Just trying to comply!

Two different studies have shown that 40-60% of people have helper T-cells from exposure to other coronaviruses that may provide some ability to fight off Covid-19.

Here’s one: https://www.cell.com/action/showPdf?pii=S0092-8674%2820%2930610-3

This would certainly help explain the wide disparity in the impact of infections. There had been those who speculated that India wasn’t hit as hard because they may have had wider exposure to other similar viruses.

Sharing small news is perfectly fine...
But why can't we stick to corona-related news, as this thread was meant for?
I don't believe hangnails fall into that category

Wrong conclusion.
Coronavirs is a common cold vrus family. India not famous for common colds.

It was two Indian doctors who were speculating about this -- and there are non-common cold coronaviruses, such as the original SARS.

On the one hand I wonder why there is such negativity at such a large and meaningful display of solidarity...

On the other hand I'm tired of celebs making it all about themselves!!

From the article:

Meanwhile, social media is bursting with tone-deaf celebrities trying to “inspire” us with nearly nude sexy photos while the rest of us pack on the COVID-19 pounds. There are the usual suspects like Emily Ratajkowski and her husband posing naked on what looks like a toilet. Or Bella Hadid who posted a shot of herself casually lounging poolside in a teeny bikini while her BFF, Kendall Jenner, spends self-isolation chilling in her underwear for all of us to endure.

Even D-listers want in on the nude attention: Ex-tennis star Ashley Harkleroad went naked to save “money on clothes” — riiiiight — and the ever-thirsty UFC contestant Paige VanZant and husband Austin Vanderford still insist on stripping off every day despite a fan backlash. Having to be sexy all the damn time smacks not of body positivity but low self-esteem — and a constant need for the public peanut gallery to cheer them on. I refuse.

Well, there it is. Well said!

PS now that we know that covid may be spread via farts, this much nudity shouldn't be allowed. If I have to wear a mask, the celebs should be required to wear undies

Ugh I'm sorry I didn't mean to bring negativity to this thread.
I'm really sorry about my celebrity rant/comment
