How principled of you. |
So at bottom, all this drama was over the Ukraine money. So weird. |
I never thought the 20 R crazies had enough capital to derail this for very long. Looks like McCarthy concluded there was no benefit to shutdown and is calling their bluff. |
Yes, snd he’s going to “win.” Any issues will be ironed out tomorrow, if necessary. |
I don't think it truly was, I think they're looking for a fig leaf. |
I think it’s more about wanting major cuts and that fight is not going away for long with a CR. |
McCarthy schooling Gaetz. Me like. |
if this passes, then the democrats will be boxed in for the full budget and there will never be anymore Ukraine funding again. I personally think $6 billion is too high. But I don't think it should be Zero. |
The GOP doesn't really have any priorities, so if they get Ukraine funding axed then it looks like they won something, and the Dems can't really justify rejecting the bill and allowing a shutdown solely to fund Ukraine. Seems like a sensible approach for the GOP if they can actually unify behind it. |
I thought they only had 15 min to vote on this adjournment |
Are you this simple? The GOP clowns are just trying to save face. |
The motion was called at 1:08. The president pro tem is clearing the floor and returning the House to order. He's asked everyone to sit or take discussions out of the chamber. Soon a vote will be called on the CR. Debate is resuming. R's have 6 min remaining. D's have 5 min remaining. So, soon. |
thank you please keep posting!!! rose de lauro says “it’s not so clean a CR” |
Nope. |
Apparently the bill gives Congress a raise by not extending the 2009 pay freeze. It also doesn’t allow DoD to transfer existing funds to Ukraine. Not clean at all. |
