Pretty hilarious that their greed of including their 'donations' on their tax returns is what did them in.

I married into an old money family and trust me, with the exception of 3, most of my nieces and nephews do NOT deserve their spots in the ivies they've been admitted to. They get in for being legacies and because of donations.

Huffman actually comes from an older money family with Yale connections. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felicity_Huffman

Huffman's father went to Yale and was a partner at Morgan Stanley. Her sister was a debutante who went to Rosemary Hall and belonged to the colony club. Her great-grandfather was Gershom Moore Peters (1843–1919), founder of the Peters Cartridge Company and prominent Baptist minister, author of The Master.[10] Another great-grandfather, Frederick Berthold Ewing, graduated from Yale University and became a prominent St. Louis businessman. Her great-great-grandfather was Joseph Warren King (1814–1885), founder of the King Mills Powder Company.

She is actually Old Money. Which makes her actions even more bizaare.

Mr. Tobin got all three of his daughters into Yale through this scam? Now one of them is in Med School. That is disgusting.

This is WRONG and so unfair to his kids. Three got in on their own. The Yale soccer coach offered to accept a bribe for the fourth. Mr. Tobin exposed it. Mr. Tobin was not charged in the college admissions case because he did not take part in it (although he has other legal issues). Both of my kids know his. They are smart and were accepted on their merits. Of course, now they have to deal with not only the shame of their dad's other actions and his ties (being the tipster) on this case, and people like you questioning their right to be at Yale.

People like us have no rights to question the merits of people like him and his kids? I think we have the right to question everyone at this point. Who can be trusted anymore?

I thought Tobin got out of being charged in Varsity Blues roundup because he tipped off the FBI. Immunity deal. How do you know older girls were not part of it?

He has given up 750. The US attorney cherry picked the biggest names at the beginning. The other 750 will come out in time as the investigation continues.

It does not say the other names will come out. It could have been part of Singer’s deal to give up a small number and let him protect certain hundreds of other people.

The names that came out could just be the people who were dumb enough to admit to having done it on a wiretapped phone. Perhaps the rest of the people didn’t confess to past fraud when the guy called them out of the blue.

He offered the info on the crooked coach as a mitigant to the charges he was facing for a completely separate financial fraud issue with the SEC (pump and dump). So we can't be sure that there was no wrongdoing, but it seems that way.

Why would the coach approach Tobin unless Tobin has done it before for his other kids? You think the coach would just be so stupid as to randomly approach someone? There has to be past history.

Exactly. You think someone who never smoked crack could just hand over a crack distribution conspiracy to the FBI? Not a chance.

Tobin is a Yale alum. His kids had legacy preferences no matter what. So it's not like the playing field was ever equal for them anyway.

So now you can get tips for club soccer? How about just giving them a bump for intramurals.
