What timeline are you thinking is more accurate?

DP. I don’t think he ever came back. I think someone else, probably his parents, brought the van back after he called an confessed to killing her. He’s been on the run since August.

+1

Why would they bother bringing the van back if he was already on the run?

Hasn't everyone caught onto this Family by now ?

Dad likely drove the Van back to FLA. Why, you ask ? So the cops would assume Brian had returned to FLA

The campsite where the FBI found Gabby's murdered body is just 300 miles from the Canadian border- a border that opened to recreation travel ( no covid restrictions) on Aug 9th

Didn’t her dad see him when he went to the house initially?

Entry into Canada would require proof of being fully vaccinated, a passport, negative test results within the past 72 hours and him having filled out the Arrivecan app.

They're definitely after him. I wonder if they deployed scent dogs.

I hope they are using the infared stuff that they used to find the Tsarnaev hiding inside the boathouse

Can we still feed him to the Gators even if they arrest him ? Any chance that oooops, he falls out of the helicopter that picks him up

This is such a tragic, sad story.
My heart goes out to the parents.

And the guy is under no obligation to tell the police anything or help them in any way. In fact, he can leave the country right now for 6 months and go travel. He may be a suspect, but that means nothing until he is indicted by a grand jury.

You seem to know basic steps of the legal process. Any good reference to read up on it fast?

they should give it a week and hope nature solves the problem for them

And if he kills someone else in the meantime?

What are the odds he’s going to get in another relationship in a week? Please.

He is a murderer.

He’s a “domestic” murderer. His ability to restrain violent behavior directed at people he’s not in a relationship with is part of how he made it this far.

My point was that most psychopaths kill for the 1st time in their late teens/ early 20's.

If they are caught after the 1st murder, it ends there.

Unfortunately, many are not caught. Some because of their guile and blending in are not even suspected ( Yes, Ted Bundy was once a Senate staffer, enrolled in Law School and engaged to be married- and he was going out at night and killing co-eds )

Anyone remember the teen killer Johan van der Sloot ( Diplomats son in Aruba ) who killed Natalie Holloway and got away with it- 5 years later he beat another young woman to death

How about this Durst guy ( killed 2 wives ) or Scott Peterson- 10 years before he killed is 8 months PG wife and dumped her body in the Bay he was wanted for questioning in the dissapearence of a HS girl he was dating ( he refused to come in for questioning and no one made him )

So, let GET Brian and lock him up for the rest of his life. Then, let's prosecute his parents

There is a viral Tiktok from a woman who said she picked BL up as a hitch hiker near Jackson Hole on August 29th around 6pm. And he (obviously) didn't have the van when he was hitch hiking. It's 36 hours to drive from Jackson WY to North Port FL straight through, so he'd have to have left pretty darn soon after the hitch hiking encounter (and driven without many breaks) to have made it back to FL on the 1st of September.

Whoa. So it sounds like someone else drove it back? Yikes!

The released search warrant says the van was caught on a license plate reader entering North Port FL around 10:30am September 1st. At this point all released information strongly insinuates that BL was the one driving it, and I think that’s by far the most likely scenario.

If he was not, investigators already know. The FBI would know if someone in his family flew somewhere during that time, and even if they drove they could have substantiated that by now. They probably wouldn’t release that, but also the search activity around this so far doesn’t really point in that direction. Besides the fact the simplest explanation is just that he drove it.

I see 4 possible explanations for the tiktok: 1. Is off by a day 2. He really did drive with only a few sleep breaks, possibly using stimulants 3. They picked up another hitchhiker and it’s a false sighting 4. Lying for clout.

I do think there’s a chance the story checks out. They released the story before the last location really became known, and the locations aren’t far off and sort of make sense. It initially seemed like based on other stuff (talking about Yellowstone) they would have likely been farther north. It seems plausible. But they don’t really have any hard evidence. Let’s say they did give him a ride at 6 pm on the 29th. If he got in the van and left shortly after that, that leaves about 64 hours to 10:30am on Sept 1. He could have taken a few breaks for sleeping and he certainly would have been motivated to get as far away as fast as he could.

I will probably be trashed for this, but I wouldn’t vote to convict his parents for covering up for him. They had no role in her death.

If it were your son, what would you do. Honestly ask yourself that.

Someone upthread said that a neighbor of BL's parents saw BL and his mom riding bikes after coming back from Florida in September. So he did drive the van to Florida.
