Just rip the bandaid off, shut it down and come up with a budget.

No thanks. Take the CR.

DP - and do this again in 45 days? Ugh.

it’ll be resolved by then.

It will? This happened in 2018. They’ll never shutdown before Christmas, the optimists said. Oops.

The bill won't contain funding for the war in Ukraine, Scalise said.

Without the Ukraine funding and with hardliner Republicans still opposing a temporary spending bill, its unlikely the measure will pass.

I read that too, but I think it could be wrong. Shutting down over $6 billion for Ukraine?

I don’t necessarily agree with our Ukraine policy, but how can the Dems vote to undermine a key foreign policy activity?

There are a bunch of people in my division who are supposed to be flying out tomorrow to attend a week-long conference. I’m sure tomorrow’s flights are a no-go, but how quickly could this get resolved?

I think quickly. The only hold up in senate is rand Paul. So if they remove Ukraine funding he should be good

So why was Ukraine funding attached to the CR at all?

Because wars don’t stop when Congress can’t get its crap together. Sending money to Ukraine is better than sending American troops to Europe when Vlad gets more stupid ideas and encroaches on a NATO country.

She is the Ranking Member on the appropriations committee, so she carries the weight of the Dems on the committee. This this is going nowhere

I’d rather be a realist than delusional. That happened and it sucked.
