Why? It is hopeful and uplifting news. Better than most other insignificant tidbits posted. |
Yeah exactly! Let's keep this hopeful and uplifting

I don't find most things on here to be "insignificant tidbits" |
Sorry. Been having a really hard time this weekend. |
When one of hundreds of possible vaccines/treatments starts clinical trials? Meh. When we have a change in leadership to actually come up with a plan and execute it? That’s huge. |
I'm so sorry to hear. Sending lots of hugs your way!! |
If I'm understanding this correctly, this study of non-hospitalized mild cases indicates that despite low levels of antibodies, these patients had immune responses that indicate further immunity and promising news for a vaccine.
Carl T. Bergstrom @CT_Bergstrom In-depth molecular work on plasma from individuals who recovered from COVID-19 without hospitalization reveals that despite relatively low antibody titres, antibodies against the receptor binding domain of the spike protein can have powerful activity. https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.05.13.092619v1.full.pdf "Antibodies are essential elements of most vaccines and will likely be crucial component of an effective vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 . The observation that plasma neutralizing activity is low in most convalescent individuals, but that recurrent anti-SARS-CoV-2 RBD antibodies with potent neutralizing activity can be found in individuals with unexceptional plasma neutralizing activity suggests that humans are intrinsically capable of generating anti-RBD antibodies that potently neutralize SARS-CoV-2. Thus, vaccines that specifically and efficiently induce antibodies targeting the SARS-CoV-2 RBD may be especially effective." |
Agreed 10000% If you're looking for only massive pieces of news (and a leadership shakeup) then you can just open any major news outlet. Won't be hard to find when that news happens. Here we specifically look for (and find) small pieces of uplifting news. Any good news is nice to hear |
Oh. Only “small” pieces of news? ![]() |
As the rest of the state began easing some restrictions on businesses, Northern Virginia saw a decrease in new cases Friday. And new data from the state is going to help local officials monitor signs of progress as the region looks to reopen May 29.
Northern Virginia reported 421 new cases of COVID-19, down from 670 on Thursday. The region reported 12 new deaths https://www.insidenova.com/news/special/coronavirus/northern-virginia-sees-drop-in-new-cases-state-offers-new-testing-details/article_40ba7f36-96b3-11ea-9b44-ab7548e7e3ca.html#utm_source=insidenova.com&utm_campaign=%2Fnewsletters%2Fbreaking-news%2F%3F-dc%3D1589551285&utm_medium=email&utm_content=image |
This isn't big enough news! Let's ONLY post news about leadership shakeup and countdowns until trump is finally out of office! I like that much better than these insignificant tidbits |
ALL hopeful and uplifting news, please! |

This Alaskan man is making a 14-hour boat trip to Costco every week to supply his small city with groceries amid the pandemic (hope it's ok to post this here) |
No no no. Only teeny tiny positive updates. I didn’t have a fever today. OMG! Great news! |
