That shyster lawyer!!

Does anyone know this guy or know more about him? He's obviously doing this for the fame since he's already on FOX news, lol

I went to college with him. Had mutual friends. From what I remember about him, it is not surprising that he took this case. Big talker. Opportunist for sure.

What's the opportunity here? Just the fame, IMO.

Will other lawyers respect the fact that he took this case? I'm not a lawyer, so I have no idea how this is perceived.

Most importantly, I'm curious as to who's paying for his fees!

Tucker Carlson asked him this question.
What this attorney said is that the family retained him - the defendant’s father hired him.
He wouldn’t get into other details when pressed.

Tucker asked the questions I wanted to ask this lawyer. I wish this lawyer can practice with conscience.

He's a lawyer. He's doing his job. Accused criminals have a right to counsel. This lawyer is doing exactly what he is supposed to do, and all lawyers understand that.

Now I understand how lynch mobs used to happen.

I agree. Someone has to do this.

I also agree that someone has to do this job and mount a defense for the accused. However, I'm not sure that that requires appearances on talk shows, interviews, etc. The lawyer is playing this for his own gain, IMO.

Maybe, but considering the amount of media attention this case is getting, it's not inappropriate for the defense lawyer to be making appearances as well.

For me whenever attorneys start making media rounds BEFORE a trial, well it always seems fishy and like they are trying to sway public and juror opinion.

That lawyer is emphatically calling his client not guilty, that's very different than ensuring he sees a fair trial. He's calling the 14yo rape victim a liar and casting dispersions on her character.

In short, he's soulless scum.

Maybe the FIRM is seeking their own gain and publicity, but let's remember that this guy is an employee, not necessarily the top decision maker. He might be forced to take on this case (including media appearances) or risk losing his job. He has a family too, and lives nearby, it can't be easy. I know it's a job I could not do, but someone has to.

When is the trial? Jezic is out there already making the rounds on TV? Seems fishy.

Yes, the defendant is allowed representation. But this attorney sounds like he's seeking attention - whether it is for himself or for his firm.

Robert Shapiro ,Johnny Cochran and the rest of the team did the same thing before the OJ trial. They are trying to make the rapist look human.

What advocacy group is going to pay to defend brutal rapists?

For the twentieth time what is the alternative? The courts have said that the school has to admit him. His limited schooling prevents him from being placed with with other 18 year olds. Would you prefer him take Pre-cal or American Literature with a second grade education and not even being literate in his own language?

Well, apparently there are 511 METS students in regular HS in MCPS right now, 97% of whom are native Spanish speakers. They could practically form their own school at this point.

OJ was not a rapist. He was a murderer. Please notice that the primary victim was the former spouse and victim of domestic violence too. So, it was fine for a man to kill his ex-wife.

What is the group that does not care at all for Women's Rights? That thinks that it is ok to brutalize, rape, underpay and kill women? You have your answer right there.

Is it some Christian Right Wing nut jobs? They are so against women's rights that it boggles the mind. They also have tons of money. Did you notice that there is zero chance that the victim will become pregnant with oral, anal and period sex? They are usually against pro-choice, and so they probably did not want an unwanted pregnancy in the mix. Most of these people are against planned parenthood as well, because then women can get some means to have a say about their own bodies. Won't be surprised that these are the same advocacy group defending these brutal rapists. Women are to be shamed and degraded according to these nut jobs!

Really you can't think of a local advocacy group that would touch this? I would guess the group I am thinking about would finance his defense. To them the issue would not be the rape, but the way this case has heightened the immigration debate and the damage to their cause.

This brutal assault had nothing to do with religion. And the men who took this girl into a bathroom stall in the boys room and assaulted her are evil, sick monsters. What they did was completely indefensible.

The attorney who insinuating that this middle school aged kid "consented" to this is not dong his client any favors. In fact, I think that it is only infuriating people.

Are you the one blaming right wing Christians? I think you are way off base.

Everyone is entitled to an attorney. If you're willingly accept the assignment, it's a reflection on you. He was not court appointed.
