This article is worth reading, and I hope her approach will make a difference in school safety.

The parents are trying to get their bond reduced to $100,000.

“Prosecutors also allege in the filing that after the shooting the Crumbleys retained attorneys for themselves but not their son and that Jennifer Crumbley said to a co-worker and in a text that "her son's destiny is done and she has to take care of herself."

Why are these parents not being charged with more? Couldn't they be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor (since they gave him the gun) or child neglect?
Would being found guilty on four counts of manslaughter get them put away for the rest of their lives?

She's not wrong, but who is dumb enough to STILL be texting about their case to coworkers?

These parents are delusional. Merry Xmas, son!

It speaks volumes that they didn't even bother retaining an attorney for him. Part of me hopes that he ends up with a slightly reduced sentence (maybe life with the possibility of parole) in exchange for testifying against them.

Mom has also been busy having an affair. The actions of these parents are really out of the norm. They don't seem vested in their son.

Agree. While I don’t necessarily feel bad for him and he is responsible for his actions, I can’t help but wonder how he would have turned out in a normal household. Who knows what ideologies/neglect he’s been exposed to and what possible mental health issues his parents ignored. I’d love to see him turn against him and the adults be given some serious prison time for providing him a gun. Time to create a precedent to impose strict penalties on those who do not secure their guns. If you want to be a good guy with a gun, then act like it and take responsibility for it.

And apparently the parents spent more time caring for their horses (hours each evening) than their son.

This has nothing to do with “securing guns”—they GAVE him the gun!

So quickly this has stopped being news.

This shocking killing...and we have moved on. Did anyone wonder how Christmas was for these families that lost their children? Are we really heartless people who can continue with our ordinary lives?

Just one month and this is forgotten.

What did you do to make Christmas better for those families?

No one forgot about it. When the shooter goes to trial and parents -- it'll be breaking news again. Especially if all three are convicted.
