Texas Colleges/Universities Anyone?

Never.

And now they are proud to be blocking women's right to pregnancy termination, even if the woman was raped.

And these are the hypocrits who say that no one can MAKE them put a vaccine inside their body.

DC turned down Georgia tech, Vanderbilt, and a full ride at UF recently. All fine schools but so glad DC is not going to college in one of these backward states.

But the "they" is not a court or law enforcement, but any citizen who takes it up themselves to get into people's business in order to get their 10k. Think of the new version of "ambulance chaser" lawyers--hanging out in pharmacies lurking in the pregnancy test aisles to get potential people to monitor to potentially sue. This was the bargain they made so their clearly unconstitutional law can't be challenged in courts. Since the majority of the people in this country support a women's right to choose, they couldn't go for the it directly--instead they went for a workaround 'vigilante justice" approach. Nuts!!

they don't care. The calculus is simple- the corporations want favorable tax/employment/environmental (especially the energy companies) laws and regulations, so they support republicans. For republicans to get elected, they need the christian base so you get politicians who oppose abortion, but also oppose taxes and unions. That's a win for business

Make them care. They can't function without customers. I don't have to give mo ey to exxon if I can help it.

who are you shifting purchases too that doesn't have offices in Texas?

It's going to be really difficult to avoid oil & gas purchases that aren't Houston based.

Focus on IT & air - Dell, Tesla, Southwest, American Airlines, AT&T

Great. I'm going to fly one-way down to Texas on AA to buy a dell computer. While down there, I'll rent a tesla. Then fly back Southwest. All while traveling with my AT&T cell phone. Thanks for letting me know!

Seriously--are you in favor of deputizing private citizens to sue people they think got an abortion, drove someone to get an abortion, etc.??? Citizens who are free to carry guns without permits or training???? Do you not see how women are going to be seriously harassed here? On what grounds do you think this is a good idea?

But you're in support of men going into female bathrooms and locker rooms? Man, this country is ass backwards on both sides of the aisle.

No, but she may support trans women using female or gender neutral restrooms. Which is not even in the same universe as supporting the carrying of lethal weapons anywhere you want and/or forcing our daughters to give birth to any yahoo's child.

Make sure you get her a chastity belt! Hold on to the key.

Just here to say to any fellow Virginians—make sure you vote in the upcoming gubernatorial election in Nov. The Republican candidate is just as looney as the rest of the GOP.

Maybe. But the majority of women are going to be on their own (no one to aid and abet right?), in a tough personal situation. And there are going to be people who make a regular practice of this. I think these young women are going to be extremely vulnerable to being raped as well (I won't sue you if you ...). Empowering vigilantes to harass women--and there are people on this board that are ecstatic about this? I am truly sickened by the lack of any moral core.

Practically..this forces woman out if texas to get the help they need. This is aimed at the texas providers very effectively. Who is going to pursue sow one across state lines? That is absurd and if they did that they would get what was coming to them.

Hope she doesn’t get raped, take the abortion pill, have an incomplete abortion and be unable to go to a hospital. And die. And yes, it could happen to your daughter.

Exactly. I was raped + kidnapped at age 16 when I was a virgin. Thank God I rid not get pregnant, but if I had even my ultra Catholic mom would have wallowed me to get an abortion.

I annot believe how horrid and stupid Texans are. I dare you to get raped and see how you feel then. It is worse than being killed because rape kills your spirit.

Seriously think about this issue before you choose a texas educational institution. I would absolutely advise avoiding this state to both my daughters and my sons.
