Texas Colleges/Universities Anyone?

One of these vigilantes is going to go after the wrong daughter or sister or mom or firefighter or therapist or doc or soldier or cousin, etc. And it is not going to go well.

But, then again, we're both pro-life and want to see Roe v. Wade overturned.

and if your DD get raped, you would force her to have the rapist's baby? Wow, that's cruel.

I think you need to correct your thinking from being pro life to being pro birth. Anybody that is truly for life, would not jeopardize the life of women who may be having a dangerous pregnancy. Or support a state that allows people to open carry guns. You do realize, guns kill people right? Anyway you are pro birth, not pro life.

It's not even pro-birth. They aren't concerned about providing proper healthcare to increase the chances the fetus is born alive.

They're pro abortion-criminalization. They only care about punishing people who get pregnant.

If they wanted to reduce the number of abortions, they'd follow the evidence and work for a strong social safety net, with sex ed, birth control, and the supports that allow women who become pregnant despite the previous two items to decide to carry the fetus to term.

And if she has a miscarriage and needs a D&C, do you want her to also have to deal with fighting in court from overzealous "deputized private citizen" out for a bounty who thinks it was an abortion. If she loses, she gets nothing--only the lovely experience of having to argue in court that she really did have a miscarriage. And will there be any doctors left to perform the D&C since they will probably be in court from all these people who want their 10k plus legal fees? I don't see how anyone who is educated by a great university such as Texas A&M would be okay with this.

Shame on you.

Daughters/ Raped? And yet you the moron would think this is a good thing. Vigilantism alone makes this law absurd. What the H is wrong with you?

Oh, we get it another male thinks he knows anything about women's health. Your poor children deserve better parents. Clearly, you are uneducated and a horrible human.

In Texas, 12 year old gets pregnant by her daddy and you want her to keep it...

In Texas, your DD drives a friend to the emergency room. Friend needs an abortion because of a health concern and your DD can be arrested and charged.

If men could get pregnant, there'd be a 24/7 abortion clinic on every corner in America.

EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

So you are ok with an ectopic pregnacy being forced on a woman, with the follow on internal eruption and death?
Anonymous
This is designed to go after the providers. The back alley type abortions will continue as they always have and always will. You simply are not going to force pregnancies and births on woman that for any number of very good reasons are not going to go through with that pregnancy. This movie has been seen already

If they try to go after the patients that leave the state to get the help they need, there are going to be enormous problems

The idea is to threaten the providers with vigilante justice but I think the vigilantes may find that they are in for a taste of their own medicine.

You’re not pro-life. You are anti-abortion. You don’t GAF about women’s and girls’ lives.

What happens with ectopic pregnancies in Texas now?

It also totally upends the very concept of standing. Republicans make jokes about lawyers suing in everything but by allowing for completely generalized standing you could make a law to let anyone sue for anything.

Legal concepts apparently have no meaning anymore.

That is what the Taliban says to the western world, “stop treading on me just because I want to impose extremist rules.”

Sound familiar Mrs/mr I am tolerant conservative.

+1 what's so tolerant about conservatives who impose their beliefs on everyone, don't care about protecting public health, and think anyone should carry a gun without a permit.

You forcing a 12 yr old to have her rapist's baby is disgusting and hateful.

Yes, people like you are like the Taliban. My parents are pro-abortion. You know how I know? My mother got an abortion after getting pregnant with her 5th child when she was close to 50, and they couldn't afford to take care of another child. They were lower income. Conservatives certainly don't believe in social welfare, even though that is actually the Christian thing to do, and they certainly don't believe in free access to birth control.

The only thing they believe in is forced births and punishing women for having sex or being raped.

💯 this.

Yes imagine your daughter is in 6th grade and goes over to a friend's house after school and is raped by the friend's relative. You're already dealing with the trauma of her being attacked. But now she has to go through pregnancy, something her body is not physically ready to do. She is more likely to die or suffer life long physical trauma. Not to mention the disruption to her education and her emotional and social development. Her trauma is going to continue to last for months and months longer. And now Texas Law says her getting abortion is a worse crime than her rape.

She will be taken out of state to terminate the pregnancy and the same actors behind this horrifying law will be behind the enforcers that try to go after her and the people that try to help her.
