Will you encourage your daughters or sons to apply to any college or university in Texas now?

Not course not. But it’s one of several Southern states I would already not send a kids, especially a daughter to. Florida, GA,SC, AL, MS as well.

Good. Less competition for the rest of us.

I abandoned that dream a long time ago. The guns on campus debate did it for me. As a UT-ATX grad, it’d have been nice but now I’m just glad that we never moved back

Crazy red state politics not to mention concealed carry allowed on campus, no, I will not encourage my daughters to go anywhere in TX

Possibly Rice, but that’s it.

+1. If you can get into Rice, you can get into a good school in not the Deep South.

Emory, Rice, Vanderbilt and WUSTL have been taken off the list.

Sad, these are great schools, but I can see faculty leaving for other places where their rights are not restricted and where education is valued more.

DC got in but decided to enroll elsewhere. A bit scary how close we came to sending a child to TX. What a shame that Rice being an excellent school in such a crazy state.

Texas isn't the deep South. Your good school history education should've taught you that

Yuck. No way. So many better options in states with so much less proliferation of ignorance.

Pro tip: if there's a community somewhere in Missouri or Texas that doesn't "value" "education," that doesn't actually affect WUSTL or Rice.
