The “permits for guns is racist and therefore unconstitutional” law will be copycatted as well. SCOTIS will be ruling if NY state gun permits are constitutional and with this SCOTUS, they will rule it’s not. That opens the door for all states to have to drop permits.

Oh, and SCOTUS will rule MS ban on abort after 15 in Summer and with that will effectively overturn Roe w/out explicitly saying they are overturning it.

Dark times.

Very dark. At least ny is one of the states that has legislated reproductive rights so the texas vigilante style nonsense cant touch it.

Go ahead and send your kids off to gilead for college if they want. Most will say no thanks.

What does that mean? At this point I don't see what can be done other than avoid texas, protest, support efforts to provide the services needed their safely, and support efforts to ensure texas people can have reproductive rights.

People with some means that want to terminate an unwanted pregnancy will do so like they always have and always will. This travesty is targeted towards poor people.

Yeah, my senior daughter was really interested in Rice but scratched it off her list. There are a lot of great schools to apply to and she had yo narrow the field somehow, so that was an easy call.

Unless required through our jobs, we're not stepping foot in, or spending one dime in Texas.

On my FB parent page for kid's big midwestern school, several parents have lamented also having kids at Texas and the stark differences (starting with COVID).

Will you force your DD to have her rapist's baby if she gets raped? What about a 12 yr old girl who gets raped and becomes pregnant? Talk about crazy.

How many foster care children in TX have you adopted?

+ 1 million. Probably even calls unwed mothers unfit, and does not support charities who support them.

But, then again, we're both pro-life and want to see Roe v. Wade overturned.

You are not pro-life. You are anti-choice.

Childish. That means you are anti-life.

It most certainly does not mean that. If that is what students learn in schools in texas then steer clear. I am certainly pro-life...who isn't pro-life?

And I am pro choice.

Silly. Pro-lifers can make the same argument. And I am pro-choice.

Not really. No one is restricting their choices. They are free to no have an abortion in a “blue” state. The reverse cannot be said in TX. At least without some vigilantes harassing them.
