Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
Hilary wrote a book: It Takes a Village. |
And yet Merrian Webster defines it as "a family group that consists only of parents and children" - no genders specified. |
| I would support the teaching of modern political movements as long as it’s wholistic. Are they also teaching counterpoints to BLM? Like the research which suggests harmful effects of reduced policing in poor communities? If not then it seems like propaganda. |
She was ahead of her time. |
No. Anger is a component of racism and you, dear PP, display that more than anyone here. |
You’re going to have to do a little more research than the first paragraph you see in your google search. Scroll down in the page and see another definition that does include those words, and then look at Wikipedia and Wikipedia’s sources. |
Anger is a component of racism? Since when? According to whose definition? I mean we are really losing the plot here but this is just so weird. |
+1. It is an undeniable fact that the demise of the nuclear family- especially the presence of dad in the home- has destroyed the Black community more than so-called racism ever could. |
Enslavement destroyed the Black nuclear family back in the 1600s. What do you think was behind enslavement? |
I agree. But that was definitely not the case. The BLM lesson today certainly did not include any counterpoint discussions. Maybe that is teacher dependent? It felt a good deal like propaganda, but I guess that is incredibly difficult to prove. |
I am extremely impressed that you managed to cram so many inaccurate ideas into a single sentence. |
If you're angry, you're racist! I got really racist at my health insurance company today. Makes perfect sense! |
Yes and the sweet old southern Belle who gave me cookies all the time? She must not have been a racist because she was never angry, even though she used the n word on a regular basis and thinks that Black people shouldn’t be allowed to own homes in white neighborhoods. (She’s dead now, by the way) |
That is something they need to address in their community and not put that burden on kids or others. Let's see - I don't believe in restorative justice. I don't want my child, if they are a victim, to have to face the bullies and play nice. The bullies should get punishedand more if its an issue. And, the BLM movement isn't about diversity or equality. And, 8 - really contradicts itself in claiming collective value but the value is only placed on black lives, not all lives. |
NP I was trying to come up with a cutting response to this BS, but then decided to laugh instead. You “everyone is a racist!” folks are certainly entertaining. It’s like Oprah - “You’re a racist! And you’re a racist! And you’re a racist!!” Thanks for that. Amusing end to a long week. |
