| Many programs don't care about anything but talent. But, the two programs to which the post is potentially referring, NextLevel and BLC, do value the other stuff. (It can't be VLC because they have one team per grade). |
| All three clubs have mostly good parents but a few awful ones. They all simply take the best players. B teams are just a way to make extra money. Better off going to another club’s top team than stay in a B team |
| When is info on Black Ops coming out? Does anyone know if tryouts are still happening next weekend. |
| It looks like they don’t want to open it up to everyone. Just the 3 clubs will form the team. |
Kind of a random collection of statements, but all true. |
The word on this board (which admittedly is not the gospel) is that Black Ops will consider anybody. How do you know they will limit it to just the three clubs? |
Because they took the website down??? |
| After invites went out and email notices sent... |
So maybe the whole thing is no longer happening? I signed up my son a couple of weeks ago and have heard nothing. |
| Did the emails and invites only go out to existing players in one of the 3 clubs? |
Not true. The word on this board is there was an "other club" field in the registration for information. I would think those players will be required to join one of the 3 clubs as part of their agreement to play if they are good enough to make the team. Does anyone know the requirements for ML Monuments and Hammers/TC/TeamMD? |
No, Next Level will not give honest feedback. They are on a quest to have nationally-ranked 25 and 24 teams and beat Madlax. All decisions were made based on that....but they won't say it. It's their business, so of course they can run it as they want, but let's not pretend NL is any different from any other youth sports organization. |
same--it's been crickets |
Can you elaborate on what you mean? The objective of all competitive programs is to select the best team they can. If a team measures its goals in terms of national rankings and surpassing its top competitor that sounds reasonable and normal to me. But obviously you are trying to say something more about NextLevel, so please share what it is. |
| The previous poster has a son who did not make the A team so the club does not give a good reason why. Some suggested it could be attitude or parent over involvement where others point out correctly that it is all about talent even at a club like Next Level. |
