It appears that there's no way a child could fall out of the window without climbing or being lifted up to it. |
No one, not even the family, is claiming she wasn’t lifted. He’s claiming he couldn’t tell there wasn’t glass. |
Same here. I managed to raise mine without dropping them out the window when we were on the Freedom of the Seas. Never thought about it but stayed well back from the edge. |
I think it’s interesting that they now don’t want to see it when initially they wanted the footage. I guess since the days have passed they now realized it doesn’t make sense to watch Grandpa intentionally prop the child up in front of an open window and then drop her. They know the video documents his negligence. |

There might be some merit to this claim as having a window open in a play area or any area for that matter, is a danger because it wasn’t expected; all the other windows were closed. A child could have climbed up on the railing on their own and tumbled out. An adult could have leaned back unknowingly and tumbled out. If it turns out an employee left it open by mistake, possible to air the room out after cleaning and before it set sail and just forgot to close it, I think the cruise ship is negligent.

Yes, I know. I was just pointing out that RC could not have expected that someone would fall out the window, being that it would be nearly impossible for a normal person to just accidentally fall out a high window, guarded by a railing. |
In your example, you're talking about a child big enough to know better, yet so misbehaved or out control that you can't trust him to NOT CLIMB UP ONTO a tall railing and lean out of a window. No. Businesses, such as cruiselines, are not required to protect your child from taking outrageous actions. And look at the window, it's tilted outward, AND there's a guardrail that appears to be about armpit height. An adult would have to lean wayyy back in order to accidentally fall out. I doubt it's even possible. You wouldn't pick your child up and set him on the railing of a balcony, would you? |
There’s no way I could watch that footage. A friend’s child died in a fire and she identified the body herself. She says she has always regretted seeing her child like that. |

You would think that a window that has no screens or locks
would ever be allowed and should Never be allowed in a child’s play area - Think high rise hotels. |
There probably wouldn’t be. Thankfully where this happened wasn’t a children’s play area so not sure why you’re making this irrelevant point. |
I would not want to watch either. It’s just interesting that they were demanding the video before and now they don’t want it. They can’t carry forth their false narrative if they see the truth. |
Who would bring a lawsuit for negligence? Do you mean criminal charges? |
I don't think you know what that word means. No one is joyful about a child's death. |
+1 The lawyer is the only one who said this was a play area — yet, if you look at any of the pictures or video, it’s clearly a dining/seating are NEXT TO A BAR! Last time I checked, play areas don’t usually have bars in them (except, you know, the old Chuck E. Cheese’s). |
