Cruise Ship Lawsuit & Today Show

I follow RC and cruising groups online, and I can report that nobody supports the family of this lawsuit. Nobody. Everyone feels sorry for the family, but the error was the grandfather's judgment.

Somebody needs to be honest with the parents and tell them that doing interviews, suing RC is not going to help them grieve. It's just delaying it through deflection, and making their grief worse.

The family's lawsuit takes away from the little girl's memory. It almost stains it.

Exactly. If the family needs someone to blame then the blame stops with Grandpa. That little girl would be here but for his stupid act.

If they can't find a way around that, then Grandpa will kill himself. Where will that leave the family?

So you think the answer is for the family to publicly blame an entity that did nothing wrong?

I wish the family would stop. I think pursuing litigation at this point will harm them psychologically.

I think the grandpa initially said that he held her up to look out of the window and lost his grip. Enter the lawyers and the whole story changes. It's heartbreaking!

The mom told Savannah Guthrie that RC should find other ways to ventilate the 11th deck. She said use fans. I was like... wow!!!! She is in some serious denial; as any mother would be after that kind of tragic event.

I feel sorry for grandpa. I feel sorry for the family. This is not on RC.

You honestly cannot cure stupid.

The mom also suggested screens for the cruise ship window. I wonder how long screens would last on a cruise ship, it seems they would be ripped to shreds by the ocean winds.

I was so sympathetic for the family until they hired a scumbag lawyer to try and deflect the blame before their sweet child was even buried.

Awful, but not on RC.

I keep thinking of the great time we had on that cruise and how much less of a worthwhile experience it would be if every window was closed. Every deck blocked off. Every balcony on the interior (there are many) every walkway every access to open air was closed off what not good vacation that would be. So we could all be protected from someone dumb enough to drop a baby out a window.
I know that doesn’t sound sympathetic but grand fathers action is inexplicable. How can a third party be responsible for a baby in someone’s arms ?

I was on that cruise ship a while back and remember that they would have these window panels opened. You can definitely tell they're open because of the breeze.

I have to wonder what's going to happen to this family the day after they get whatever settlement RC agrees to (which they will).

All the money in the world will not bring their child back.

He'll be in heaven with the child he killed and there will be closure from the guilty party.

So what if that’s true? It’s still moronic.
