Kevin's ex can go. Didn't like the actress on the Walking Dead and I don't like her here.

Not loving the adopted daughter story either. They killed off William prematurely. He has popped in a couple times, but a few seconds of William can't save the show.

Over Kate and Toby as well. What does she do now? She was her brother's assistant. She worked for Jamie Gertz for 1 episode. Is she back working for Kevin?

They shouldn't drag how Jack dies out like how I met your mother. After too long no one will care.

Oh, but those few seconds of William - and Annie - were REALLY good.

The little girl who plays Annie is adorable and a terrific actress.

The most recent episode was excellent if you can relate to having prolonged difficulty with grief or losing a pivotal parent as a young person.

Also, it did a nice job showing the struggle men go through as they take on responsibility. They don't know how to talk about things. Emotionally it distances them, which physically distances them. I thought Rebecca and Jack 'reuniting' in the car angle was great. It showed all men aren't sexually driven, some need intimacy. Typically Hollywood only shows us the sex-driven man with his temptations.

+100. And stay out of this thread. Jeez.

I kind of like the suicide idea and maybe Jack set the house on fire before he goes to ensure his family has the insurance money to survive on...

I also loved the scene with William and Annie !

Not gonna happen. It's a fictitious, yet much-hyped award winning television show broad-cast for public consumption and scrutiny. Nitpicking isn't the issue as much as viewers disagreeing with one another although that weird Danni Star thread could use the advice.

They seem to idolize Jack, so he isn't going to die in a poor light, IMO.

and OMG that William and Annie seen was amazing.

Yes.

It was not explicitly said, but she blamed her mom for her bailing on the talent show. When she heard her mom singing in the shower (where she barged in), she made this face like her mom tried to one up her on purpose. I am so over Kate -- and I think I am supposed to be, right? They are writing her to be unlikeable.

I don't find her unlikeable at all. I think she's just deeply insecure, from a lifetime of being told she's fat - remember the mean girls at the pool? That scene was excruciating. And while her parents clearly always adored her, Kate couldn't help comparing herself to her perfect, talented, beautiful mother. I think she's well-aware that it's her own resentment of Rebecca which has caused such a rift in their relationship. Remember in an early episode last season, when she was telling the bratty daughter of her employer that she (Kate) had pushed her own mother away, completely unfairly? I think she could use some therapy to explore these resentment issues. I feel bad for Rebecca, who was clearly a wonderful mother and never did anything to hurt Kate. Kate was just super-sensitive to anything she perceived as a slight. Rebecca really can't win - she's damned if she does, damned if she doesn't. I do wish she'd tell Kate that sometime, instead of just looking at her with a hurt expression. I like Kate, but someone needs to tell her to stop feeling sorry for herself.

And Beth....I like her but find her character fake, especially this season. Does anybody really act that way? Talk that way? So many of her lines are cool "one-liners". I get it, she's cool, adores her husband and likes sex, but it seems forced.

+1
I don't find her warm at all.

I think Jack commits suicide. I hope I'm wrong but here are the clues:

1. Remember the random scene at Randall's holiday party where he talks the guy off the ledge. Randall told him that his kids will always forgive him as long as he's around to be forgiven.

2. Kate was really bothered by Toby's suicide attempts and it's one of the first questions she asks him when they start getting to know each other better.

3. Kevin said he threw away all the model airplanes he and Jack made because he was so angry after his dad's death.

I've been sitting on this idea for awhile. I really hope I'm wrong but all foreshadowing seems to point to it.

Very interesting! You may be right.

This show has become like watching paint dry. I don't mind shows dragging out the suspense a little but this is ridiculous.

It’s obvious from the online discussions too - they became very slow as there is not much to discuss, really.

Oh, I'm glad everyone found that William/Annie scene as great as I did.

But the Kevin/Kate scene in the trailer, oye that killed me.
