Well, that's just silly, considering the number of people who could not even tell you who represents them in Congress or where most states in the country are located. But they all should be expected to have heard of Davidson College, right?

It is a well-regarded SLAC, and performs well in the NCAA tournament, so I would assume its reputation would be known by most people in this area (esp. now, with the Steph Curry connection). I would be thrilled if my kids went there.

Davidson is much more selective/elite. I very much doubt that anyone who is at all knowledgeable about SLACs would even attempt to argue otherwise.

It is a good school but its obscure not doubt about it. Its also fairly remote. Lately, schools seems to be trending more towards STEM than liberal arts. Know lots of students who have gone on to the medical profession. Less to consulting, Wall Street etc.

I went to Davidson on Saturday (have friends in the Charlotte area) for a basketball game. For a school that doesn't have more than 2,000 students, there was a good size crowd there.
