he wanted to wear dresses as a kid and secretly borrowed his sister's dresses. He broke up with first and second wife b/c of his feminine issues. He took 5 yrs of female hormones in the 80s....this is not something he came up with recently. |
| Did we already discuss that's he's a republican? That was the weirdest part for me. |

Hmmmm...his 2nd wife, the mother of Brody and Brandon (who seems fabulous), published a piece about Bruce. While she's supportive of him, she points out that he wasn't involved in her boys' lives for YEARS (and didn't even go to Brandon's graduation). She also writes that when he contemplated transitioning during their marriage, his plan was to reenter the kids' lives as their new Aunt Heather. As likable as I found him during the interview, and as sorry as I am for him, I feel like the real heroes are the four older kids he essentially abandoned as children. |
And the first two wives |
The weirdest? |
| Of course responses from his first two wives were very supportive and positive, where as from Kris is was "No comment". |
Again, fwiw, she did tweet support this morning. |
If you watch the interview you will see that he originally started to transition in the 80s (30 years ago). He took hormones for 5 years and then decided to stop. This does not appear to be a spur of the moment thing. As for why now, here's my take, the older we get the less we tend to care about what others think of us. I am only 40 and I care so much less about what other people think now than I did when I was 20. I am sure at 60 I will care even less. I think at 65 his kids are almost all adults (the last 2 are late teens I think) so he doesn't have to worry as much about how this will impact them. He just wants to be happy. Good for him. |
I don't see how you can draw this conclusion. If "all he wanted was to be happy," he would just proceed with these (crazy) plans, living his life in as normal a manner as possible. But instead, he has chosen to, well let's see -- marry into the Kardashian craze, sell out to every tabloid magazine that will treat us to his/ her face on the cover, bare his soul to the world on TV and anything else he can do to remind us that all he wants is just to be Happy. |
He didn't marry into the circus they are today. I think they were together for more than 20 years. I am not sure but I think the reality part has just been on the past 5 or 6 years. I am sure he has his reasons for why he did it. My comments were specific to the question, why is he doing this at 65. Clearly you are not a fan of Jenner. That's OK. TVs channels can be changed, you don't have to buy the magazines, you can just be happy living your life as though he doesn't exist and not waste your time on something with which you don't agree. |
Yes. |
Oh but I can't unless I decide to live under a rock. Because this nonsense is everywhere and is part of a larger PR push where I am being asked/ forced not only to tolerate the transgendered lifestyle but embrace it as normal. |
| ^ This! |
Oh please. I've met 3 transgendered people in my entire life. I'm fine with it but even if I weren't it would have no effect on me at all. You didn't have to click on this thread. You're choosing to watch tv shows that discuss it and then whining about how much it bothers you. Get over yourself. |
I think you mean you'd have to stop watching tv and surfing the net all day, if you wanted to avoid it. Oh, the hardship. |
