If she said the cabin is in Northern Maine, when you look at a county map there is only one county that comprises all of northern Maine: Aroostook

The other counties that could qualify as "northern" are: Somerset, Piscataquis, and Penobscot. So go to the database that i sent you to and look up the uncles name for each of those counties in hopes of finding a hit. OK, I'm done now because I'm thinking OP is full of it.

It's 4 days later and no word from him. You yourself say it can't be that he can't get in touch with you so our optiona are
1. He's not getting in touch with you deliberately
2. Something bad happened that his uncle (and friends) are not posting about or contacting you

Which seems more likely?

So you don't know the town? You don't know the employer? He mostly visits you not the other way around. He likely had some form of communication as anyone in a remote area knows not to rely on cell coverage. Sorry hunny, I think you're the OW and he's away with the wife or girlfriend and can't call you. Also explains the super strict "I can only go away on weekends because my employer doesn't allow days off"

OP, it's more than 24 hours out. I know that I would be able to reach a significant other if I needed to. My time would NOT be spent on DCUM fretting.

He didn't go hunting. Maybe fishing?

So.. You either are looking for him, or you're not. If I really thought something happened to someone I cared about, a 4 hr drive would not deter me.

What's your solution?

I know lots of people - hourly employees mostly - who can't take days off. If he accumulates PTO, it's likely he hasn't accumalted much if any yet.
