Thank you APE for pushing hard last year. Keep up the good work. Let's get phones out of schools.

This entire thread is based on the premise that APS cares about survey responses.

“… If anyone in this group could submit a positive comment.” Not, “hey Arlington people, can you please submit public comment!”

I’m concerned more about how much they flat out lie. APS needs to stop at the very least meeting with APE. They’re going to bring the whole division down!

DP. I mean, anyone reading that or who clicked on the link and saw that it asked what APS school your DC goes to would understand what that means. Only people looking for bad intent see bad intent.

Gaslighting.

Just like she asked her friends and family to fill it out, she very clearly asked ACPS people to fill it out.

I’m guessing most won’t do it, but that doesn’t change the fact that she asked them to do it.

Yes… but APE truly wants to win no matter the cost. APE members have told me they respond to surveys multiple times since APS doesn’t have technology to detect that. I have been told by others that they got family members who do not live here to fill out surveys.

It would be easy to just pick a school randomly to complete a survey. They don’t care about integrity. They just want to win.

No, it’s based on the premise that people in our community shouldn’t be unethical jerks.

Nah. The fact that she asked a group of 1.3K people NOT from Arlington or APS schools to comment in an APS official forum asking for policy input is the ONLY issue involved. Anyone can lie on these forms and respond multiple times if they care enough. Which obviously APE does if they're going to outside parties to comment on APS business. APS should find a way to make their forms more secure, but that's my only criticism of them in this case.

I know APE is trying to find any spaghetti to stick to the wall now, but this ain't it.

S/he was wrong. APE's Board's response to DCUM was a g-d lie. There was bad, bad intent. You just got called out royally for it.

I was neutral on APE until these screenshots came out. The person who posted in Alexandria’s forum was wrong, not the OP.

Anyone on AEM knows who it is anyway. Just enough was left unscratched to make sure of that.

I’m in AEM and have no idea who it is. But that’s okay. They identified themselves as APE. That’s the important part.

It’s the one who was exceptionally nasty to other parents and teachers.

Anonymous wrote:OP again. It's not the cellphones in classrooms people or even the current or future policy, even though some people want to conflate the issues.

It's the fact that an APE representative went to another community forum to solicit comment to influence APS' policy. And if anyone from Alexandria weighed in, shame on them.

What? They were asking how other neighboring school districts handle things. Is that really so nefarious? They even identified themselves as a member of APE.

I'm sure plenty of Arlington parents have opinions about AAP. Not sure that strange.

Since I have to spell it out with crayons:

She. solicited. Alexandria. parents. to. officially. provide. feedback. on. APS'. policy. while. it. was. open. for. public. comment. to. advance. APE's. policy. goals. Not. necessarily. the. community's. wishes.

It's unethical and slimy for outsiders to weigh in. I don't go to FCPS or LCPS' open policy comment section to weigh in on things that absolutely have no bearing on me or my children.

School board members and the system want to hear from their community only.

I can't help you if you don't see how wrong this is.

Huh? Where? I don’t see her asking this.

Oh, and here’s the second most damning part since you’re too busy to read through a whole thread.

Why not include this screenshot in the original post? Because without it, OP seems like a nutjob. 😆

Are you seriously this dense?

Do you not see Jeff’s comment about removing one of the links?

This is exactly what I was going to say. When has APS ever let their surveys guide their decisions?

All of them?

Because I was around in 2020-22.

I don't mind being clueless here.

So that somehow excuses unethical behavior from parents in our community?

No, of course not.

I have seen the screenshots with the names not crossed out. Many of us also belong to the Alexandria group. The OP is the most annoying APE member. And this response was under the original post.

If you read the thread in full, you can also figure out who the APE member is if you spend any time in AEM.

Fair enough. There are certainly many of them who were horrible. She was maybe the second most notorious female poster. Continued on longer than others.

And it turns out that she didn’t even have kids in K yet at that point.
