APE screenshots: this is how they play to win

Anonymous
This is pretty disgusting. Wow.

Someone should send this story to ArlNow. Buuutttt. ArlNow has been a mouthpiece for APE for a long time, and even more so since the former editor of the Sun Gazette joined their staff.

This story needs to see more light.

I don’t care how you feel about cellphones in the classroom. I don’t like them either. I however respect those who don’t agree with me in my community and will not try to influence policy by asking 5,000 “friends” from elsewhere to weigh in.

It ruins APS’ good faith efforts to engage with OUR community. We don’t need outsiders influencing our debate.

APS should stop engaging with this 501c4 immediately. They have shown again and again who they are.

[ Admin: I removed one link to an image had the author's named visible. ]

The author’s name is still visible. You left just enough unscratched to make sure of that.

Historically, I haven’t been a fan of APE. But this post makes me think APE’s opposition is even more batsh*t crazy.

Asking neighboring districts how they handle tech just isn’t that big of a deal. Get a grip, OP.

They scratched it out. I can’t tell who it is.

I was neutral on APE until these screenshots came out. The person who posted in Alexandria’s forum was wrong, not the OP.

Oh, and here’s the second most damning part since you’re too busy to read through a whole thread.

I just caught this!

“… If anyone in this group could submit a positive comment.” Not, “hey Arlington people, can you please submit public comment!”

I’m concerned more about how much they flat out lie. APS needs to stop at the very least meeting with APE. They’re going to bring the whole division down!

Yup. She joined the ACPS group to solicit additional, non-Arlington people to complete the survey.

Unhinged. Unethical.

Anonymous wrote:OP again. It's not the cellphones in classrooms people or even the current or future policy, even though some people want to conflate the issues.

It's the fact that an APE representative went to another community forum to solicit comment to influence APS' policy. And if anyone from Alexandria weighed in, shame on them.

What? They were asking how other neighboring school districts handle things. Is that really so nefarious? They even identified themselves as a member of APE.

I'm sure plenty of Arlington parents have opinions about AAP. Not sure that strange.

Since I have to spell it out with crayons:

She. solicited. Alexandria. parents. to. officially. provide. feedback. on. APS'. policy. while. it. was. open. for. public. comment. to. advance. APE's. policy. goals. Not. necessarily. the. community's. wishes.

It's unethical and slimy for outsiders to weigh in. I don't go to FCPS or LCPS' open policy comment section to weigh in on things that absolutely have no bearing on me or my children.

School board members and the system want to hear from their community only.

I can't help you if you don't see how wrong this is.

Huh? Where? I don’t see her asking this.

Scroll up. Look at the screenshot just posted. Come back and engage.

Anyone on AEM knows who it is anyway. Just enough was left unscratched to make sure of that.

Why not include this screenshot in the original post? Because without it, OP seems like a nutjob. 😆

It was there, but dcum admin deleted it bc OP accident didn’t scratch out a name. So op went back and corrected it. And now it’s back on dcum.

I admit it’s a bit confusing without the second screenshot. You do have to read the whole thread.

I’m in AEM and have no idea who it is. But that’s okay. They identified themselves as APE. That’s the important part.

DP. I mean, anyone reading that or who clicked on the link and saw that it asked what APS school your DC goes to would understand what that means. Only people looking for bad intent see bad intent.
