You’ve yet to provide any real examples of how your child was bullied or picked on (not making the team doesn’t count). Your comments are starting to border on slanderous. I wish your daughter success in swimming or whatever endeavor about which she’s passionate. |
There is an ABSOLUTE ZERO percent chance of this child being successful at anything in life when having a parent that acts like this! |
"I have taken time to review the details of your concern and communicate with staff for their information on what occurred.
We are sorry that one of the coaches asked your daughter to demonstrate a racing dive from the starting block during the tryout. As Coach XXX mentioned, there was a misunderstanding between the coaches regarding instructions given to them. The intent was to have participants demonstrate a racing dive from the pool deck if they were comfortable. Safety for all is a top priority and I will be making sure to review safety information on a number of topics including diving at upcoming coaches safety training sessions that occur at the start of the season. I too add my apologies for this misunderstanding which resulted in your daughter being asked to demonstrate a dive from the starting blocks. " So they asked her to go off the racing block, then they went back and ran through a course of breaststroke. Oh and by the way they don't like her breaststroke. Ooopsie daisy. |
I’m sorry to report that a competitive 8-year -old should be able to do a block start and a legal breaststroke. This isn’t bullying. It’s club swim. Ooopsie daisy. |
That may or not be the case. It's pretty well known that few of the kids going into the programs have that skill and the parents of the ones that I talked to were not required to demonstrate that skill at the tryouts. Which is simply not fair. However, what is the case is that is an inappropriate method to assess whether a kid can go off the blocks. There is a USA Swimming protocol and any swimmer under ten is required to have a certification log signed by the head coach. https://www.usaswimming.org/docs/default-source/coaching-resourcesdocuments/racing-start-certification.pdf |
They acknowledged the error and explained they will be reviewing diving safety at an upcoming coaches training, so what more would you like them to do, aside from automatically putting your child on the team? |
If they offer you a spot tomorrow, would you take it? |
For the love of god!! Can someone please share the bullying that was done? This poster sound giddy about getting someone demoted/fired, which likely isn’t true. Either this poster is evil or a troll. |
Lol, there is no way their kid will ever get offered a spot on any RMSC team because they have already been tagged as a lunatic parent. |
I was team troll but the email being posted is giving me pause. |
I don’t think there is bullying. The family is basically blacklisted. The diving block thing, which was LAST year, was not specifically targeted to just OP’s kid. It wasn’t as if everyone else in 8U dived from deck and OP’s kid was singled out. Since then, OP has a chip (or two) on his shoulder and RMSC is basically on his sh@t list. |
Many kids did dive from the deck instead or didn't dive at all, yet still made the team. At least from what I saw in the observation window. Also, many of the kids don't even do block dives at the mini competitions from what I hear, it's even in the promotional pamphlet. If you can't block dive you can dive from the edge. That particular coach was way off base. The integrity of the tryouts reflects poorly on the quality of the individuals in the cult. You know some kids made it and others didn't because of this practice. I requested the numbers, but they refused and also didn't notify the other parents of the safety lapse. RMSC needs a special pool in the woods where the cult can sacrifice goats with no one watching. |
How do you know which kids from the tryout actually made the team? And what makes you think it was the block dive that made them not take your kid? |
None of the other RMSC sites used diving. However, RSFC seemed to feel strongly they needed diving. Maybe they were having them dive just for giggles. My personal opinion is they were bullying her, trying to make her uncomfortable, then denigrating her when she made a mistake later in the tryout "ah we saw splash in the breaststroke" after she did a horrible belly flop off a block. Why did they do that one last lap of breaststroke after the dives? She had already done several laps of breaststroke that looked fine before the dive. Then they had her dive off the blocks then more breaststroke. Doesn't make any sense to me. Again, all the other coaches staff broke their necks looking the other way. That's what it looked like to me. |
Of course that’s what it looked like to you because you are crazy. What you have described is not bullying, especially because you are saying your daughter was not the only one at the Rockville site doing dives at the tryout. I also highly doubt they “denigrated” her so that she would be uncomfortable. I’m sure the feedback you are referencing was given in response to what I am also sure was an unhinged email from you demanding to know why she did not make the team. You can accuse club swim of a lot of things, but I have never seen or heard of bullying 7 year olds that are trying out. For the sake of your daughter, you really need to get a grip and take a huge step back from her extra-curricular pursuits. |
