Tell me I'm wrong. Tell me that Republican *policy* isn't geared towards denying women (and only women) reproductive freedom. And it's not just abortion - they're going after contraception as well. And the cherry on top is that they are proposing PUNISHMENT for having an abortion.

And spare me the lecture about immigration being a national security issue - if it was truly that, the GOP I used to know would have shut that shit off years ago. But Republicans don't want to solve the issue; it's too valuable to them as a wedge issue for political advantage. It's all dog whistles, and barely disguised ones at that.

The way I see it, any woman of reproductive age who still votes Republican is just like a Log Cabin Republican - willing to trade their entire identity for absolutely nothing.

Are you aware that for most women, abortion is not the only issue they think about? It's clear you're a one-issue voter. Many of us are not. Even those of us who are pro-choice.

NP. I’m the black woman who posted about my abortion and your comment is what it comes down to. There’s a lot more to consider than abortion. I’m so disgusted by Democrats’ positions on so many other issues that I won’t vote for Biden this election. It’s a measure of how far this country has fallen that we have to choose between a party that would allow adult male crossdressers, a disproportionate number of whom are sex offenders, into girls’ bathrooms versus a party that would force a raped girl to carry the crossdressing degenerate’s child to term.

Good grief woman. None of this is happening. You're being manipulated and they're using your bigotry to do it. One day the fascists will come to round up people that look like you and me, and you'll have empowered them because you were afraid of imaginary cross-dressing rapists. Get it together! There are real and present dangers, and I promise you trans people are not the danger you should fear.

Hold on. You mean the old man in a miniskirt and 4” clear stiletto heels who I encountered in the women’s bathroom at the YMCA three weeks ago wasn’t actually there? Or the at least 6’4 man with long hair who entered the women’s bathroom at the AMC movie theater while I was alone there three months ago also didn’t exist?

Wow, either Republicans have perfected a mind control ray that makes women see cross-dressing men in the bathroom or Democrats like you are lying, gaslighting, hateful pieces of sh!t who endanger women with this disgusting social agenda and then attack us when we speak plainly on what is happening.

While you figure that puzzle out, I’ll be voting Republican for the first time because of fools like you.

An old man approached me in a grocery store and told me that he was going to get surgery so that he could have big boobs too. It was clear this was some kind of "flasher" scenario where he wanted to get a sexual thrill from scandalizing a woman. I was at a retirement community and I guess news hasn't traveled to them yet that women are positively inundated with this crap now. I gave him the sort of kindly look that you might give a senile person and told him that I wished him a smooth recovery in his surgery. He was deflated, and honestly that might be the only good thing about all of this. We can't be shocked anymore.

I am sorry this happened to you. He was trying to be funny and dealing with this new boob

(older men say all sorts of weird things to me ) . People are silly that way

Why are you posting as if you know the old man? PP doesn’t need your condescending attempt to explain away very predatory behavior.

They are following their husbands.

Oddly, they probably selected a husband based on compatible values. However, I understand DCUM usually selects for height and size of wallet.

It is worth recognizing that historically women trend more conservative and more religious than men. I have my own theories about why this has changed over the past several decades.

I’m an agnostic, feminist, immigrant black woman married to a man who used to be Democrat, but now is an independent. I agree with you 300% on these issues. Democrats have lost the plot completely on the issues you highlight. I also support the Trump tax cuts, see student loan forgiveness as the vote grab and cash transfer to an elite and entitled population that it is, and despise what Democrats and so-called progressives did to schools in the pandemic.

Voting Republican at this point is about the lesser of two absolutely noxious, stinking evils.

YES! It seems that democrats believe the only concern to a woman is when she will get her next abortion.

We are not walking uteri and have thoughts and opinions outside of our reproductive abilities.

According to this chart, the question isn’t why US women vote republican, it is why so many have shifted left in the past decade or so.

I am voting republican this year
—40s, female and divorced

Why:Trump was not that bad. I voted Biden last time. I am worried about the VP and what it would be like to lose a president in office

On January 6, were you not worried about the president and what it would be like to lose a VP in office?

Enough about that date. Property was destroyed and some had heart attacks. It was wrong.
I remember Sept 11. I lost a friend from HS. Let’s not go through that again. Keep me safe. Keep stability abroad so it doesn’t come home

We almost lost the system of government that has been in place since our founding, but fine, let's just go with "property was destroyed and some had heart attacks." I remember 9/11 too and it was a catastrophic failure by federal intelligence and law enforcement - but Bush never incited the hijackers, nor did he praise them after the fact.

I always say the left has lost it. And I actually agree with much of what you believe. So… what you are saying : It’s just not true

You think the US government was almost toppled by a man in a mouse-hat with horns?

I have no idea what you are talking about with Bush. But since I raised it and am happy to go with the flow:

I don’t think the event merits its own date. Like D Day or september 11. It’s an oversell.

My point was this: 9/11 and 1/6 were the two darkest days of my lifetime (I was born in the 70s). While Bush's administration could have done more to prevent 9/11, he did not summon the perpetrators as Trump did when he tweeted "Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!" And he never, *ever* glorified the perpetrators, as Trump has many times and continues to do.

What would have happened had the January 6 rioters managed to take the ballots - or capture or kill members of Congress?

On hundred percent. But that Jan 6th minimizer is just explaining what Republican women do with that catastrophe in order to keep voting Republican. They minimize it and are probably disappointed that the coup was not successful.

You do realize that American Republicans are the most armed civilian population on earth, right? How do you reconcile this with the fact they didn't have any weapons while, according to you, attempting to "end democracy"? It was a bad riot. After a summer of bad riots, totaling billions of dollars in damage and multiple deaths, which we were assured were very important for self expression.

So it not "minimizing" to observe that the scale of Jan 6 wasn't impressive or a threat to our democracy.

You are completely and intentionally ignoring the fake elector part of the plot. The intention of the day was to actually try to change the election outcome and the violent capital riot of fools was absolutely a part of the plot.

But you are free to ignore reality and vote Republican. That is your right.

Yeah, because they were not part of a cohesive plot. One was about submitting questionable paperwork. The other was about storming the Capitol. They were not coordinated activities. You'd have to demonstrate why I should believe electors in Arizona are at all related to a violent riot in DC. I doubt they knew about each other's existence.

They don't necessarily have to know about each other's existence if they're being coordinated by Trump and his cronies.

DP...
There were a lot of unwitting MAGA dupes who had no clue and were just along for the ride but there was most definitely a coordinated core team that knew exactly what they were doing and what they were after. Remember that Roger Stone coordinated with Proud Boys, Oathkeepers and III% and that they had designated "breach teams" that were keeping in touch via encrypted radios. Remember that members of Congress had to whisk away the box with the election certificates. They were so organized that the MAGAs who weren't up on the plan were calling them "Feds" but now we know that they were in fact Proud Boys and Oathkeepers and we know their identities and they are now sitting in jail. There was indeed a coordinated plot.

I do think they are being overly sexualized though dress and social media. And people are saying it’s okay as it’s about identity and personal liberty. Ok, it’s also about sexualization at a young age. That does make them targets for people who do not wish them well.

It’s a bit jarring to see so many kids in skimpy outfits, posting photos, male or female or third gender.

Nice try shifting the conversation to a more sympathetic face of the transgender agenda, but I’m talking about the adult men playing out sexual fetishes who Democrats have given the “right” to invade women’s spaces. I’ve encountered several of them in just the past six months and I won’t tolerate being yelled at by liars who don’t want to hear inconvenient facts.

Good luck posting about it on here. The moderator once debated claiming that human are not a sexually dimorphic species and therefore men could become women.

Oh, I know the crossdressing men and their handmaids will summon him shortly to delete responses. Too bad for them that he can’t stop us from voting against their agenda.

OP, if you want to know why many of us are voting Republican, RFK, or staying home, start here. When a party throws open women’s spaces to perhaps the most predatory subgroup of men in existence and attacks women who speak out, those of us who aren’t delusional handmaids will abandon ship.

And this is just ONE of the many issues on which Democrats are dangerous, fascistic, and insane.

That's actually factually incorrect. Trans people are actually far less likely to be predatory and are far more likely to be the victims of crimes than the perpetrators of them. And saying that isn't "silencing" you, it's stating a fact. There are a handful of cases that got a lot of attention but overall, that is the fact. You're entitled to believe whatever you like but it's not true.

ok, now you guys sound crazy. Coordinated plot ? those dudes ?

Who is old enrough to remember “it’s a right wing conspiracy” when Hilary said it as First Lady?? Was that the 90s?

I was a kid when I heard her say that and thought, “That sounds crazy.” Now all my coworkers were born past the 90s!

How ‘bout I tell you instead that the holier-than-thou righteousness of the left is extraordinarily unappealing, even to people who pretty much agree with you?

Yuck

Are we not all stuck with these abortion bans because of holier than thou righteousness? Talk about unappealing.

NP- I'm an independent and I don't understand how people are still affiliated considering the disgusting rhetoric and lack of respect of both parties. It's not productive, and really only helps the vilest politicians on both sides to gain traction, and the press/media/social media when people gobble up divisive crap. I'm a reluctant Biden voter, but so tired of people not focusing on what they can agree on to just hurl insults at each other. The reality is most women, including republican women, are pro choice or hold some nuanced view of abortion, opposing bans. None of them will be convinced to vote Biden through ad-hominem attacks.

I don't like ad hominem attacks either, but if the ability to make your own health care decisions is something someone values at all, then how does that person vote in favor of a person and a party that are actively working to take that away? I do not get that.

To be blunt? Some of us don’t sleep around so a need for an abortion is not the driving force in our lives.

Woooooooooowwwwwwwww. Alienate pro choice women much?

The GOP trots out this trans talking point every time to try to distract from their crushing women's reproductive rights catastrophe. Every time. Maybe there are even a few voters that actually are so threatened by trans people that they will be manipulated by this tactic.

But the tsunami of voters that will turn out to try to get their god given rights enshrined into law overwhelms this little transphobic pocket.

But you are free to vote about trans people if that is your big issue for some reason.

But these Republican women will gladly vote for a guy like Trump who slept around like crazy, called STDs his "personal Vietnam," palled around with gross predator of underaged women Epstein and commended him on his choices "he likes 'em young" - who grabs random women by the pussy and brags about it, who went backstage at a beauty pageant with underaged girls to leer at them in the changing room, who cheated on every one of his 3 wives including dalliances with a porn star while Melania was home with newborn Barron, who paid women illegal hush money, and so on because they think anyone who gets an abortion is a disgusting slut who should not be associated with.

That sums that whole issue of abortion and related "conservative values" up.

Also, why are you so mean ? mean and funny is one thing. But offering someone a “that sucks “ post is normal. Women deal w random comments all the time. Guys have no clue.

One can be "not excited" about an election and still understand that every vote up and down the ballot is important for the future of the republic and having a government that is open to immigrants like yourself.
