Can I pay them less by giving them generous leave and summer's off.

My kids had him at Barnsley too! He was intense but my kids really loved him. Thought he was funny and did silly things to motivate the kids. He could be loud but he always meant well.

I do wonder if we really know the whole story. While I agree all kids need to be safe the consequences seem a lot. Like MCPS didn’t do enough with Beidleman and now doing so much more, perhaps too much? I don’t know but it’s all very sad.

Can you clarify or explain "intense"? Or give a couple of examples? I guess my kids never had an intense principal. It doesn't sound good to me, but it could be I just don't understand the dynamic.

Intense as in a very present and involved way. Not in a bad way at all. Just put in many hours and came to everything. Fully invested.

Wtf??

Well here comes another settlement. Time to lay off another 5 teachers to pay off a settlement for an incompetent administrator.

The courts generally do not award much in damages in these cases

Especially when there are no actual witnesses just anonymous complaints.

There's a video. And there's no indication the reports were anonymous.

Two kids witnessed it and told teachers. There were witnesses.

You think the consequences for intentionally stomping on someone else’s body part (a minor child’s body part) are too great in this situation? You are delusional and if this were your precious child you’d be singing a different song

How do we know it was intentional? I don’t see from the charging document that intent is mentioned nor proven.

Are you that dumb or just that loyal to this person? The intent was enough to get him arrested. The police do not arrest you based on nothing, no matter what conspiracy theorists may say

NP. Why are you trolling this person? Use reason, not incentives, and you will better make your point. I never understand why people insert personal insults rather than just explain perspective.

^^invectives, not incentives-- I guess autocorrect wants everything to be rosy!

Thank you for clarifying. I'm the person who asked.

I think that's standard, at least for ES. My kids' ES principal definitely was at movie night, science night, art show, etc. And being approachable and "present" is definitely part of the job. The principal would do lunch bunches with kids as incentives for sending in Box Tops, etc.

Can I pay them less by giving them generous leave and summer's off.

summers off = unemployed

Really? Is MCPS going to stop paying your health insurance, forcing you to go on Cobra?

Do you troll every single thread so you can whine and lament about teacher benefits? It’s pathetic. Get a life, log off DCUM, and find yourself a better job.

Whats the squabble about? The child abuser is gone. Good riddance.

Teachers prepay their summer health insurance during the rest of the year. So when they have no income, they can finally get all the appointments taken care of that they can't do during the school year.

Technically, the employer is still contributing. It’s actually more like a furlough than unemployment.
