My kids had him at Barnsley too!  [b]He was intense[/b] but my kids really loved him.  Thought he was funny and did silly things to motivate the kids. He could be loud but he always meant well.

Can you clarify or explain "intense"? Or give a couple of examples?  I guess my kids never had an intense principal. It doesn't sound good to me, but it could be I just don't understand the dynamic.[/quote]

Intense as in a very present and involved way. Not in a bad way at all. Just put in many hours and came to everything. Fully invested. [/quote]

I think that's standard, at least for ES. My kids' ES principal definitely was at movie night, science night, art show, etc. And being approachable and "present" is definitely part of the job. The principal would do lunch bunches with kids as incentives for sending in Box Tops, etc.[/quote]
