Kate spending time with "birth family"

I didn’t because my cancer center is better than theirs… but facing chemo with young children is super daunting. I have one more round to go!

This was me two years ago and I’m sending you love.

Her appearance is a big part of her image; I imagine she has lost all or most of her hair/brows/lashes treatment and won’t want to be seen in public until she looks more like herself again.

This is my guess too. She will take the time after treatment to regain weight and grow her hair out and look like her former self. We aren’t going to see her looking sick and with bad hair or a wig.

+1 basically her job is to look beautiful and poised while visiting places. It's totally reasonable that she can't do that job while undergoing chemo.

Im the PP with stage 3 breast cancer. I didn’t mean to derail the thread - just wanted to give insight into what Kate might be feeling - but I wanted to thank you all for your well wishes and love. You all seriously made my day!

When your immune system is suppressed like with chemo, it makes sense to limit your contacts and protect yourself. She isn’t in a position to be in crowds and shake hands.

This sounds like she’s dying.

Yeah, the wording is not good (the word “surrounded” is so often used to describe end of life). I think it may have been an awkward mistake. Who is that source, anyway?

Most imprtantly, to be a mom to her 3 children while trying to get through very tough medical treatment. I'm sure her energy is limited.

It doesn’t necessarily mean her cancer is more serious.

Agree. The initial announcement said she is going through “preventative” chemo - if she had anything beyond stage 1 cancer, it seems unlikely to have used that phrase. But traditional chemo (compared to the targeted chemo therapies that are thankfully on the rise with various cancers) is very tough on one’s body and spirit.

+1 This is my guess (having been through chemo myself).

The initial announcement said her condition was not cancer at all. So much of the verbiage from KP was bungled or confusing from the very beginning. First it was “Routine abdominal surgery” (but nothing about abdominal surgery is routine) with an oddly specific notation that it was not cancer (but nobody said it was) . Then, it’s cancer but preventative chemo. No such thing as preventative chemo. Chemo is difficult and taxing and if it were preventative for cancer, everyone would use that . Then, they mentioned William would take time off because he’s on the “school run”. Another odd term.

Now, the term surrounded by family and only with “birth family” is used.

I really hope not. Those poor kids

Just realized this was not a press release or anything official. The “birth family” lingo was the ridiculous word choice of some unreliable royal source. GMAFB - he can pound rocks.

There is no legitimate proof that anything has changed since her statement.
