This is what we are stuck with. Pick. |
C'mon man. You must be young. Presidential elections are almost always about picking your poison. Choose against the worst option. It will be one of these two so get out there and protect yourself and your family from trump. |
Yes, but with enough discussion and pressure applied, Biden could be convinced to back out of the 2024 race so that we can run someone guaranteed to beat Trump. It isn't worth the risk to pretend to be content with a candidate that may or may not be Trump when there are potential candidates out there that would easily be a guarantee to beat Trump. That's not a knock on Biden or the job he has done. It's just reality. |
Unfortunately Biden really is the sharpest Democrat. |
Maybe 30 years ago. |
+1 And ask former President Walter Mondale about how reliable polls are a year out. |
Biden or Chaos. That's the choice. |
Reality is that state filing deadlines are passing and we don’t have time for a giant messy primary, so dance with the one who brung you. |
pray tell, who is this amazing mystery person be that can replace Biden and beat back Trump? Look, I like a LOT of the current Dem electeds, but I can't figure out one who doesn't have a negative that would become the reason they lose. Sorry, that's reality. As I said, Ds have to thread the absolute tiniest of needles just so a sack of crap doesn't take the white house and run us in to the ground. |
Gretchen Whitmer would be an absolute guarantee. It's Donald fricking Trump. We don't need god's gift to presidential candidates to beat him. We just need someone that isn't over 80 with a 40% approval rating and losing to fricking Trump in current average polling data. |
It isn’t about the lack of perfection. There is simply a different opinion among the Dem supporters (ie, voters) on how to go about things. The party leaders and their people (the political teams) are not on the same page as their supporters. It’s choose your own adventure — same book but different choices at the forks in the story. |
Totally agree. Bipartisanship is now akin to treason. |
You know who still believes in bipartisanship?
Joe Biden |
Gretchen Whitmer is great. I truly hope I'm able to vote for her in 2028. But the reality is that if Biden isn't at the top of the 2024 ticket for whatever reason, a big portion of the Democratic base will revolt if he's not replaced by Harris. |
+1 Show me an example of the GOP being bipartisan lately. I bet those two pps can’t. It’s only ever Democrats who are expected to compromise. Just like it’s only ever Democrats who are expected to be perfect. Where’s the third party candidate to snatch votes from the GOP? Why aren’t the GOP primary voters getting slammed for still (STILL!) supporting Donald Trump? Biden beat Trump once already. Why isn’t there a massive push to get the treasonous raping fool off the ballot? |
