Yes, but with enough discussion and pressure applied, Biden could be convinced to back out of the 2024 race so that we can run someone guaranteed to beat Trump. It isn't worth the risk to pretend to be content with a candidate that may or may not be Trump when there are potential candidates out there that would easily be a guarantee to beat Trump. That's not a knock on Biden or the job he has done. It's just reality.

Gretchen Whitmer is great. I truly hope I'm able to vote for her in 2028. But the reality is that if Biden isn't at the top of the 2024 ticket for whatever reason, a big portion of the Democratic base will revolt if he's not replaced by Harris.
