The (I presume) guys who engage in pointless fundamentalist Christian vs. atheist debates in the religion forum. I imagine them chortling, "Ha HA! What about THIS!" as they consult their book of logical fallacies and throw around Latin terms they don't understand, all to go around in pointless circles. They should just accept that they are yin to the other's yang.

- person who calls everyone on the job forum a dinosaur or boomer when someone disagrees with them

- lady who has been ranting in the beauty forum and telling everyone their recommendations are ugly or for 80 year olds

That’s not me, but there is definitely a continent of posters in the Fashion forum whose suggestions imply they are 55-75 yr olds who shop at Chicos and Kohls. No shade to those ladies, my mom is a core member of that demographic, but that’s not who I want fashion advice from.

There is another, smaller group of regulars who seem to be perpetually slim 50-65yr olds with clothing budgets that exceed the average American’s annual income. I am not sure if they are real people or just fantasy characters people make up. I do think there is a chance they are real and just wildly out of touch with “normal” people because my neighbor works in non-profit development and I see these women by the dozens in the background of her pictures from an endless parade of galas and dinners. If they are real, I am not sure why they bother themselves with DCUM. It seems like they would be too busy to be bothered dishing out advice to the suburban Lulumemon preschool drop-off crowd.

No way. If someone doesn’t check those nutters then they’ll have us all living in the Christian version of Afghanistan in a generation.

I love this poster or posters. Reading or listening in depth analysis of TV shows I enjoy is a longtime hobby of mine. I used to love the Television Without Pity recaps (some of them were like 25 pages long for ONE episode) and the Tom & Lorenzo "Mad Style" recaps of Mad Men episodes as interpreted through the costuming and set design. Seriously one of my top 10 favorite things about the internet.

Me tooo - I also frequent the reddits for the shows I am into (hi Ted Lasso & Yellowjackets).

That said, there was that person in the (RIP) White Lotus thread who wrote out these very long posts in which she ascribed very off-book backstories to characters, that she seemed convinced were true. She was convinced that Daphne came from money and owned some rental properties, and that's why we had to understand that she wasn't staying with Cam in any way because doing so afforded her a nice lifestyle.

That person should really take up fan fiction.

Eh I think that women are as into tv shows/movies/pop culture as men are into sports.

This! The poster(s) who start every response with “eh” or “meh”.

+2. Hate the “eh” poster. Just say the sentence. Just because you’re a woman , doesn’t mean you should start your sentences with “eh…” “meh” or “so”. Just use a declarative sentence like everyone else.

That poster wrote some very long, detailed analyses in a recent Gilmore Girls thread

Relatedly, people who purposefully put extra lines in their response so that it stands out more on the page, but also never have anything particularly useful or inserting to contribute.
True.

This is me. I live in rural Pa & have never been to the DC area. I might visit sometime though, and what I’ve learned from this website will come in handy.
