Hilary Swank pregnant with twins

I was in a bunch of donor egg online support groups and I'd say that 99% of people don't tell a soul about using donor eggs: not their sister, mother, best friend, etc.
We will talk about IVF but not the donor part. It's way too controversial. Who wants to set their kid up for criticism from conservatives, etc? Much easier not to say a thing to ANYONE.

Me too! I got pregnant at 43 DE and some friends just demanded to know … my business is my business not yours. Besides I have twin sisters IRL. So I just referred to that and keep my business to myself. It’s hard when you are celebrity at 48 to really get anyone to believe it was just a miracle!

Could also be DEs from a family member, in which case family history would be relevant. That’s the route we planned to take when it looked like DEs would be necessary, because I wanted the genetic connection to me too.

They probably have been trying a long time with a combo of her eggs, donor eggs, maybe they've explored adoption, who knows and the fact that they are now on the road to two babies is a miracle, even if was achieved using other eggs.

What do you think she means when she says "twins run in the family"?

Why do you care? She can say what she wants. If you don’t believe it, fine.

Why do you care if other people care?

Because nosy and controlling people who care about other people’s personal decisions are dangerous.

So MYOB and stop telling other people what to think?

MYOB and stop telling other people how to act.

Ok Grandma. Can we get back to the conversation now?

Says the out of touch old lady throwing a fit that a 48 year old dared to get pregnant without giving a psa on how it happened. Are you brunch granny?

Now you’re just mad that you can’t shut the conversation down, hall monitor.

Celebrities are super weird about this. I don’t even believe Beyoncé and J Lo had natural twins at 37.

Mariah was honest about her fertility struggles after 40, and talked about going through IVF.

I have had 3 pregnancies (two healthy kids and one termination), all over the age of 39. All conceived pretty quickly and naturally. So yes, some women are fertile well into their 40s and no, I am not a unicorn. I know lots of oops babies born to friends over 40, incl. one friend who just delivered her unplanned healthy 3rd child at age 46.

Huh i guess all those doctors don’t know what they are talking about.

Which doctors? The ones who want you to jump straight to IVF and pay them thousands of dollars? They probably know, but they likely are not always telling you the truth. I was told at age 38 by an ART specialist that I need to get straight to IVF because my eggs are almost all gone. I proceeded to get pregnant not once, but 4 times, all on the first try (ok, one on the second try). Two healthy babies at age 38 and 41.

If you had no trouble getting pregnant why were you at a fertility clinic?

Why are using donor eggs so secretive when adoptions are now wide open? The truth will come out eventually in the age of 23 and Me and other DNA testing,

My grandmother naturally conceived twins at 42.

My great-grandmother naturally conceived twins at 45.

It id definitely possible !! My great grandmother naturally conceived twins at age 45 as well! This was the 1920s!

You can assume all you want, but not all of us used fertility treatments, nor is it anyone's business how we conceived our children.

Thanks for those anecdotes, sweetie, and thanks for telling us you don’t comprehend the difference between anecdotes and science.

I’m sorry you have had a tough time.

You're the loon that called it "ungodly."

To all the people out there TTC - it elicits a false hope.

Celebrities are ALWAYS lying when it comes to medical stuff like pregnancy or plastic surgery.

Considering how us fans put them in a place of pure privilege > you would think we deserve more in return.

Why on earth would you think you "deserve" anything from a celebrity? Weird.

This.

Also, an older friend had ART to get pregnant and ended up with identicals spontaneously.

People usually tell their kids. They don’t have to broadcast it to the world. And it’s possible to not use 23andme or just use it anonymously/with a fake name.

It’s creepy and ungodly. And then we have sad stories shoved down our throat when it goes badly, eg Jimmy Kimmel, Markle, Christy Tiefan.

Do you even know if these people had ivf or are you assuming because they had miscarriages which can literally happen to anyone? Markle has never said she did ivf. And her and Chrissy Tiegan are not so old that it’s a foregone conclusion. I don’t know anything about Jimmy Krimmel.

If she used IVF she didn’t conceive naturally.

Except the child won't know that they have to be anonymous and use fake names when they grow up and decide to do DNA testing because as far as they know, there is no secret. There might be some questions when the results come back. I thought people were past keeping these family secrets, because too often they eventually come to light.

She didn’t say it in that interview, she said it in another interview - that it’s a “total miracle” and that twins run in her husband’s family. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/hilary-swank-pregnant_n_633dfb6be4b04cf8f369cd9b/amp

She said it on Live with Ryan and Kelly - that twins run in both her and her husband’s family. 🙄

“Hilary later went on Live with Kelly and Ryan and said that she’s feeling “great” right now. "But my clothes started not to fit so I had to, the other day ... cut [my jeans] open." Hilary also shared that twins run in her family and her husband’s family. "It's such a blessing. It's a total miracle. It's unbelievable," she said.”

Imagine believing this. It's selfish, gross, and an extremely dangerous pregnancy. Why not fess up and admit you sacrificed your childbearing years for money and fame. Why not be transparent on how hard it's been to get pregnant naturally after you turn 30 let alone 35. Why not be open about anything past age 35 is a geriatric pregnancy. Playing pretend does nothing but promote a lie to harm other younger women who think they can wait.

Literally ALL, and I mean 100% of all my friends in this area and I had babies naturally at or after age 35 and they were all healthy. Don't try to equate having a baby in your 30s as the same as having one in your late 40s.

Stupid response. There’s no conversation, just you sockpuppeting and whining all over the thread that celebs need to tell us when they use ivf and old people shouldn’t get pregnant waaah! Grow up.
