Wrong: the odds of twins goes up due to pending infertility as FSH rises in the late 30s, not 40s. The stastical chance of having twins at age 48 naturally is almost zero. IVF doesn't even work at that age because FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) is already elevated, eggs are running out (can only stimulate 1-2 eggs tops) and quality is gone. It sucks, but anyone who has really been through a tough fertility battle knows that after age 44, the odds of conception with one's own egg as a first-time mother are close to zero. And twins at 48? No chance in hell.
