Organized sock puppetry?

Probably straight from the GOP Annex in Rosslyn.

I’ve noticed an uptick recently too, OP.

I’ll try to report them the next time I see them.

Hilarious. People don’t agree with your views so they must be trolls? You are delusional.

Np by the way and I never even commented on the threat you linked.

Saw some of it last night in this thread but there are other examples as well:

https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/877213.page

It's not that people are posting different ideas, it's that the usually give and take of forum messages are a few one way a few the other: this seemed to be more organized 'dog piling'.

Been seeing it more frequently recently in a number of threads

Anyway, not sure how you would manage that. Just thought I'd mention the observation.

Where does the piling on begin? I don't want to read the whole thread.

Last night you saw some patterns around page 2-4

https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/15/877213.page

You'll see a grouping of fast and furious replies, like three or four right after one another, then a break and then they come back again an hour later with another three or four.

Could be the same person just replying to multiple thread or replying twice.

Been seeing other patterns though in other threads too.

Moderator, let me do you a favor, don't bother. There's nothing like what the PP is suggesting is there. PP just does not want to read posts that suggest it's time to look at how to protect the vulnerable communities while letting those not at high risk to get on with life. I truly cannot see how she thinks there's any concerted effort in the back and forth of those posts.

Jeff, it's exactly this post above that is splattered all across DCUM on every forum, ad nauseam. Thanks for weighing in, PP, so Jeff has something to go on.

NP. What's wrong with what the PP wrote, other than the fact that you don't agree?

THIS. It's astounding that OP (and others) call people "trolls" when they disagree. I've been on DCUM for years and still can't believe this is allowed. HINT: A troll is not someone who disagrees with you.

It's pathetic that the OP is so insecure s/he simply can't deal with opposing opinions.

+1

Perhaps she’s just looking for an echo chamber.

I've noticed this as well OP. One day many of the threads will be flooded with a certain discussion topic that seems politically motivated and it's carried across all sorts of subforums.

I've started to ignore whatever Trump talking point of the day (Open everything up! Open the schools! Etc) and not even bother to post. Many use incorrect terminology for american businesses and call them a name that sounds like the posters are English as second language posters. Why are they doing this here? Anyone actually in power doesn't have time to read these boards.

It's just a nuisance, and I've decided not to engage anymore.

You people are crazy. I am the poster who tried to help clarify for Jeff that OP had absolutely no point--that she is only complaining about seeing multiple posts that in alignment with her liberal opinion. I am not a conservative and I see many other posts that share opinions contrary to OP--but there not mine. There are many of us who don't think this country should or can keep living in bubble wrap. For some reason, OP thinks it's one person. I promise you, it's not. As far as I know, this site does not ban opinions that are contrary to those put forth in mainstream media.

Yep, I've chimed in on many threads with an opposing viewpoint to Op's. It is definitely not one person disagreeing with Op .

And it looks as if the organized trolls have an organized effort to come here to try to intimidate and discredit people who complain about them.

If they were just regular conservative people, why would they even notice that people were posting complaints about them here?

Posting on every single thread, in every forum -- including Food.

I certainly don’t post on every forum, so there must be more than two people who have different opinions than you. Really not sure why this would be surprising.

It's surprising when someone posts their favorite recipe for Mac N Cheese and then a PP posts, "This proves why the elderly should shelter in place while the rest of us go back to work." It makes no sense and is obviously someone with an agenda copying and pasting in multiple threads. It's tedious as hell. We are not going to be influenced by you just because you repeat and repeat and repeat your tired opinion that most people don't share.

If that's actually happening you should just report it. The site owner has said he will remove posts that derail threads.

This thread is proving OP’s point.
