OP, it's funny you posted this. Over the weekend we were out to a trendy restaurant and hung out in the bar before our table was ready. I noticed that probably 1/3 of the women were wearing tall boots over pants (jeans, black jeans, etc.), and I was thinking (per DCUM and a few fashion blogs) that this look was supposed to be "out." But these were women, younger and older, stylish, put together, and tall boots over pants was definitely NOT out in this crowd.
I don't think this look is as out or dated as the fashionistas proclaim it is. |
|
Tall boots are warm and appropriate for the weather. They look better with jeans than booties.
This look is not going anywhere no matter how many self proclaimed fashion know it alls think they can wish it out of existence. |
A lot of us don't change our wardrobes every year as fashions change. I go for professional, not fashionable. |
| I just today spotted a woman wearing very tall boots over pants but she was tall, slim and AA and could just pull it off that I can’t being a short plump Asian woman. I agree with others - wear what you like and works for you. |
| OP here - glad to hear that this look is still out & about with fashionable people! Only because I think it is appealing, and I’m always extra warm with tall boots. Observing people is my jam. |
| Are you realtors? |
| This is a classic look, year after year after year. |
| Im still wearing my stuart weitzman tall boots.. |
| Cool to keep wearing these, but not with suit jackets and blouses. I tried to google what that would look like and got jockey outfits. |
Moron can't even spell.
|
Nope, not realtors. |
It’s this. I recently attended a conference in a midwestern city and saw plenty of tall boots. They looked dated. Really their entire look was dated including hair. Attended another conference in NY and didn’t come across this. |
| Yeah, this sounds like a jockey look to me. I still like tall(ish) boots with skirts, or with slim cut jeans and a long sweater or cardigan (yes, I know that's a little Han Solo, but I actually think that's a sort of timeless look!). I can't really picture it with pants and a jacket/scarf though. This seems to me like it would be much better with ankle boots. |
|
I cannot picture this at all unless it’s MLM and people think throwing on a blazer from Express makes it “professional” or its a bunch of grown women dressed like they are going horseback riding “because they are in the country”.
Please OP tell us what the conference topic is or find a picture of a representative outfit. |
| I see lots of women around DC with the pants tucked into tall boots look, especially now that it's cold. Not as out as the posters here would have you believe. |
