| Andes candies (chocolate with green mint line in the middle) |
This. My friend's grandmother always had a bowl of it on her tv set. |
|
Werther's commercials even play into that. It's usually a grandfather giving them to his grandson or something similar.
--50 yr old Werther's lover, thanks to grandfather. |
| Peppermint. My grandfather always had these in his pockets. |
Juat because they are old people's candy doesn't men thay are not tasty. Not a mutually exclusive concept. |
I associate these with Philadelphians, not old people. And, honestly, an old person who might lose a tooth eating one because they are so chewy. |
| My old dad loves licorice drops. Ew. |

Werther's (sooo good though)
Tic tacs My mom, aged 69, gets the Christmas candy, and I have no idea of its source. It is hard candy, has various patterns, like red stripes, some thick, some thin. Some full red, some full green, some transparent and some not. Anyone help me with this? Also Strawberry and pineapple hard candies. Soft center. The wrappers look like strawberries or pineapples, respectively. |

| Lol! This cracks me up! When I was little (32 here) my,dad used to take me to his friend's house...he was a barber and while I waited for him the wife would offer me candy. Butterscotch, those strawberry candies in that strawberry looking wrapper and Carmel with the white center in the middle...those were my favorites! |
What are humbugs? |
| Those pink chalky things that taste like pepto bismol. |
| This brings back memories. My great grandparents loved circus peanuts. Another great grandmother loved peanut brittle. My grandfather always kept lemon drops and butterscotch candies in the pantry. Thanks for making me smile. |
| The Vermont Country Store catalog has a huge assortment of old people candy-and it's mostly delicious. |
