I think my fave candy of all time is peanut brittle. Pretty sure it qualifies as old people candy.

I'm making pralines tomorrow. My mother made them every year, huge batches to give as Christmas gifts. One year we went out and gathered pecans from the ground at some place that had a bunch of pecan trees.

I think they are more of a 20th century thing than not.

PP here. Like After Eight, Almond Roca was supposed to be "fancy." It came wrapped in gold, and was sold in a pink and gold tin.
