I wonder how hard it would be for Warren Buffet and Bill Gates and FB lad, Zuckerberg, to donate money to start a nationwide support system for our "new arrivals" instead of asking the middle class to AGAIN support the rich and the poor?
I wonder . . . And these are our rich democrats. huh |
| My grandparents all immigrated here and were required to have a "sponsor" - someone responsible for their housing and other support. What if a condition of being made a citizen was that you a) had a job that supported you or b) were living with someone with a job that paid enough to support him and you both? |
Why does everything about race? Typical liberal response. It sure gets old! |
| When Hillary gives all of them amnesty it's going to bankrupt social security and medicare and medicaid. And have a serious impact on the Pell Grant program, too. |
And what about the doctor shortage? There aren't enough now to serve our current citizens. |
OP. That's my precise concern. We are in debt to $20 trillion, and SS and Medicare are heading to insolvency as it is. (Medicare is actually in worse shape, even though it's SS that gets the press.) we simply cannot dump another 10 million in the system. (Plus, once people know about amnesty in process, it will incentivize more illegals. We will have 15 million before you know it.) According to the link I posted - here it is again - three out of every four immigrant households are on govt assistance. We simply can't afford all this. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/09/01/immigrant-welfare-use-report/71517072/ |
Really? Joe Arpaio. This actually happened. |
You can always find an anecdotal example for anything. That doesn't negate the argument being made here - that we cannot afford to place another 10 million people - especially people who broke our immigration laws - onto government assistance. We are going broke as it is. |
10 million is a very low estimate. I suspect there are millions more. |
But it's so easy to get around B. There are plenty of newly arrived immigrants living in small apartments with friends and relatives - multiple families in one unit. So if two people are working and willing to support the rest, what do you do then? |
I'd say January if Drumpf gets elected. It's been happening in Arizona for the party two years. |
Bless your heart. You don't even know what that word means. |
Taxpayers are forced to pay for, or endure the government using our funds to pay for, all sorts of things you or I may not like. That's how it works. Like two wars in the Middle East, for example. |

Please make up your mind:
Do you hate immigrants because you think they work the low-wage jobs you wouldn't do or do you hate them because you think they don't work the low-wage jobs you wouldn't do? You can't say they are lazy freeloaders and also say they are taking all your jobs. |

So much ignorance.
1. Undocumented immigrants do not have access to welfare and food stamps. Never have, never will. 2. Legal immigrants have to be here for 5 years to qualify. 3. Undocumented immigrants almost all pay payroll taxes. Thus they pay to fund benefits for US citizens. 4. Almost every economist who has looked at this has concluded that immigrants are a net plus to the US economy and the treasury. 5. Since 2009, the number of undocumented immigrants from Mexico has decreased. http://money.cnn.com/2014/11/20/news/economy/immigration-myths/ |
