Foreign born but raised here in the U.S. since infancy. So, those two things in your question are not mutually exclusive. |
| Do you know/speak the language of the country you were born in? |
I don't know. I went out with Asian guys, white guys, white closeted guys (well, just one), black guys, Latino guys, religious guys, bisexual guys, educated guys, no-college-degree guys. I'll give any guy a chance to buy me a coffee and I'll listen to you. I never fell in love with any of them though.
I know tons of white chicks who dig Asian guys, so I don't understand your question. A PP asked that very question. No one's losing. But Asian does seem to be the flava-of-the-month. Which is amusing to me, because when I was growing up Asian women were *not* very popular as dates. |
Yes. I speak it, read it, and write it, albeit crookedly. |
| What is booking? I guess I have a vague idea but I don't really understand based on what you wrote. |
I was going to ask OP the same thing. |
It's really complicated to explain because the nuances of booking are lost in translation. It is a concept so foreign to American soil that the knee-jerk reaction to the one-line explanation of booking is, "That is so weird! Why do Asian women stand for that?" Hell, you're just listening to some drunk guy talk for 10 minutes in exchange for a free cocktail. No groping. It's not so bad. He might just be super cute and the two of you hit it off. An explanation here: http://everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1680007 Booking happens in the U.S., in the Asian clubs. But guys of all races inherently love the idea of booking. Imagine! The horror of horrors, some hot chick shoots you down at a bar when you go up and ask if you can buy her a drink, and you slink back to your buddies while you hear her friends laughing at you, doesn't ever happen in booking. Nick Cage went to a booking club, that's where he met his wife. She was a waitress. |
| What are the races/cultures of your couple friends. Are they mostly Asian, White or both? |
I have friends from all races. But the couples I referenced before in a prior post? All white women/asian men. I think that's what the PP was asking about, she was asking about Asian guys. In terms of all my friends IRL, I would say about 50-60% of my couple friends are white-white. The remainder are all mixed-race or same-race-not-white. |
This is OP again. By the way, an Asian chick probably couldn't get away with asking an Asian guy out like that. But you white chicks get a pass because you are seen as exotic, with strange, mysterious and enticing white-wimmin ways. So go for it.

| Are you either a lawyer, a doctor, or a PhD physical or biological scientist? Or do you work in a massage parlor? |
| How old are you? Though it was posed in the questions, repeating "chick" reads rather juvenile. |
I'm here legally and know the language, so no, I don't work in a massage parlor. Yes to former question. DH is as well. |
I'm, like, 40, you know? And thank you for the "juvenile" accusation--we Asian women *are* supposed to stay youthful far, far beyond our natural years, so they say. |
Love the idea of a booking club. |
