I hope this does not give another black eye to Landon.

Are you saying they have adult chaperones at parties where teens are drinking alcohol? That seems like a recipe for disaster (and legal liability).

They are talking about beach week. Many parents set up these type of rules for beach week and many parents will have parents chaperone, sometimes rotating in and out during the week.

Most seniors from public and private schools do this. Many parents buy their kids alcohol for the week so they don't have to get caught using fake id's.

Just ask anybody you know whose kids went to beach week and they will confirm.

I'm afraid that I can NOT confirm this. The behavior you describe is both irresponsible and illegal.

You are sticking your head in the sand then. Most of your friends that have had seniors have allowed this. If you choose not to believe it, that is your problem.

My kid is not a lush, and if she were, I would address the issue rather than support her illegal drinking. I guess I will have to learn to live with this worrying problem.

Picking on one school because their students are drinking alcohol at a party at the Beach is absurd.

However, hosting or facilitating this sort of thing is border line crazy unless you have millions of dollars of liability insurance and enough cash to defend yourself against criminal charges.

Okay ladies, none of you drank alcohol after you graduated high school?? I sure did.

How would this hurt Landon. There are kids in every public and private school that drink and beach week has been going on since the 80's. Schools do not have cameras on their kids 24/7 do they? Why would Landon be at fault?

It illegal in Maryland to do what these parents did. I don't know about Delaware. But apparently Gansler along with others rented the house. Even if it is legal to permit minors to drink on your premises in Delaware, there are potential liability issues involved. Gansler of all people should know that.

If Gansler rented the house, thats another story entirely.

As for the picture he's taking, I assumed it was of his son.

Another Landon party facilitated by parents. This is not exclusive to beach week. Same families usually had the parties. Someone just took a photo this time and outted a facilitator. I'm surprised its taken this long to become a public topic.

Could Gansler be charged under Delaware law for failing to stop the drinking? Instead maybe he could start talking bringing more rational laws to Maryland in regards to teen drinking. It's time to lower the drinking age for beer and wine in private homes.

I am so glad I was not a teen during the cell-phone/twitter/instagram era. Much more FUN was had that was never caught

This is just one of the fruits of red-shirting of kids in middle school or high school.

These recent grads are not 17 .... they are 18 and 19 with some approaching 20 yrs of age. They are indulging in what could be described as "age-appropriate" behavior.

Landon isn't the only school to graduate "older" kids these days. But some would say that they were an early adopter of the practice with other schools following.

The parents who are facilitating this are leaving themselves open to huge law suits.

Name a local school with seniors who are within 6 months of turning 20 years old. Those mythical seniors would be 19 already at this point in the school year. I bet you cannot name one.

The party shown was during "Beach Week". Do the math.

This won't give a black eye to Landon but it sure will give a black eye to Gansler.
