He might actually be relieved at this point to be taken down for this. Old age does strange things to one's mind -- can make you feel terribly guilty and ashamed for the awful things you did in life. I say, let the chips fall where they may. If he is a decent person now (which is entirely plausible) he will know that it is only right that justice is served for the atrocious things he did.

The holocaust started in 1933 but mass killing of Jews really ramped up around 1941 when this man was 22. Also WW2 started in 1939 when he was 20. Plenty old enough in my opinion.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the OP's issue is with her/his fuzzy grasp on the timeline of WW2, but when the SS company that he commanded took place in the Warsaw Massacre in 1944 he was in his mid-20s. Is that still too young for you, OP? Or, as the AP article says:

The Holocaust was the systematic killing of 6 million Jews, with total annihilation of that "race" as the goal. It's something to remember because you do not want history to repeat itself, and maybe go for your children and their descendants.

Numerous perpetrators have not been brought to justice, and many claim they were just following orders and blame their hierarchy. Not good enough, when the end result is soap made out of men, women, and children's fatty tissues.

Therefore, given the nature and magnitude of the crimes committed, even feeble old men should be dragged through the courts.

My uncle is a holocaust survivor OP. Enough already???? Do you have any idea what he endured as a Jew? Do you think for a minute that he's not STILL traumatized by it? Do you think any of the survivors don't think about it almost daily? You may pass judgment on this, and you probably will you piece of crap, but the holocaust defines him. It was so heinous that he simply can't get beyond it. And part of why he actually goes into schools and talks about it to people is because of people like you. People like you, who want to act like time will just make it all go away. It doesn't. He is making it his life's mission, while he is still alive, to ensure that people like you have to hear about it. I have seen absolutely disgusting posts on this board but this one is horrid.

I agree with your post, but let us not forget about all the other people killed by the Nazi. History has a way of forgetting them and they too should not be forgotten.

OP, if your children were to be abducted, raped, starved, tortured and killed, at what point would it be ok for us to shrug our shoulders when the perpetrator is found? "Nah- forget it. Poor guy is old. Let's have some compassion!"
