We did not get in anywhere for PK. But I know it's early in the process.

Yes, Takoma (and West) is definitely an option for PS and PK--after that I'm not so sure. Really hoping to secure some type of long term solution now and avoid switching schools. Really, really hoping for Capital City, but so much of a longshot....

Got into HD Cooke inbounds. Anyone else out there?

Next is 26 on Takoma Education Campus. Any chance here?

Anonymous wrote:how is this possible. I was checking how many people are wait listed for 2nd grade at lafayette since my son is now on the waitlist. I was just being curious so I checked the number 1 person on the lafayette wait list. I took their tracking number to see what other schools they applied to and what there positions were. Here were the results. How could they be #1 for 2 schools?
And number 2 AND 3 for highly regarded schools?

Brent Elementary School 44
Eaton Elementary School 3
Stoddert Elementary School 1
Mann Elementary School 2
Janney Elementary School 82
Lafayette Elementary School 1

Luck of the draw. I mean, they 44 and 82 at two highly regarded schools as well.

You have me thinking - I am actually going to do the math b/c this family might really want to play the lottery.

Anonymous wrote:Really surprised by the Key PK this year. #4 on wait list is no preference - last yr something like 20 in-boundary kids were wait listed. Good news for OOB families.

Other observations?

PreK at Hyde - 14 IB students waitlisted.

Number 5 on waitlist for Capitol Hill Montessori. Anyone have an idea how likely that is to move up?

Look at it this way - for their 1st choice school, they got #44 out of 59 - so they will not be going there.
For their 2nd choice school, they got a good # 3 out of 61. A decent number and Eaton gets movement.

At choice #5, they got the 3rd worse # pulled - there are 84 on the wait list!

Mann never takes anyone so it does not matter

number 3 for Hearst
number 7 for Lafayette
number 13 for Janney.

I am not terribly interested in Hearst - but do I have a chance at Lafayette?

Why are you not interested in Hearst. We got a spot.

You'll almost certainly get in.

20:31 - you'll get in. I'm pretty sure that last year, I heard of people in the 60s and 70s or higher were being offered spots.

Yes, just as much as you can get a 1 twice when rolling a dice six times, except that this is a 345-some sided dice.
