New poster. There’s nothing sad about anything she said at all. Are you just one of those people who thinks that if someone makes different choices than you that they’re wrong? |
Of course. We call them “old maids.” The male versions are “confirmed bachelors.” |
You married it. |
They call me a “spinster.” |
Yes, that is another term that is frequently used. |
It is hurtful. |
You’ll live. |
At least you're not bitter. |
No thanks to you. |
| I did. I'm mid 40s, was married for 20 years and have one grown up child. I enjoy being on my own at home, reading financial news, watching a movie, or spending time at a gym. I am very busy, running several startups, splitting my time between two states and constantly traveling with my family. When I have time, I do date pretty successfully but end up leaving all men I meet as I get very bored with them quickly. Not on OLD, I'm a member of an elite gym, and a business union club in my city; also meet men through professional connections. But at this point I am more interested in pretty young women and would love to try some extreme sexual experience. Sex clubs, threesomes, swingers vacations is what I'm craving for. Not really interested in plain straight dating for LTR or marriage. I like to be submissive, bound and called a wh...e. Men say I'm very good in bed but by at large I only care for them if there are interesting to me professionally (have ideas for my business) and provide good sex. |

I prefer confirmed bachelorette, thanks!
Sometimes I get pondering what ifs and get melancholy over the marriage I dreamed of - but then my rational mind kicks in and I remember that in 50+ years I’ve not seen a marriage I envied or would wish to trade my complete independence for, never mind have I ever met a man I felt compelled to do domestic labor in support of and that’s something they all seem to expect. My only real regrets are about not having a child and even those are greatly tempered by the state of the environment and outrageous income inequality so I’m good with dog as my copilot and a life that’s been full of adventure compared to the quiet desperation of most. |
