God didn't warn them.

NOAA did.

Think about who to trust.

They need to spell it NOAH to get through to these people.

Thankfully, Californians are not like southerners and are smart enough to not build businesses, schools, hospitals or homes near areas prone to fires and/or earthquakes.

They did not imagine the river level rising 26 feet in 45 minutes, what was a more of a tsunami than the typical flash flood.

That's not an excuse. We all need to adjust our expectations dramatically for the world under climate change.

But they could have responded to a 'normal' hundred year flood. This new mega-flash version gave them no chance to respond.

The county could have installed warning sirens with the money given by the Biden IRA. They didn't.
FEMA/DOGE could have not forced retirement on the person who would have called county officials. They did.
The camp could have built the new cabins outside of the flood plain. They didn't.

There are so many choices made at the county, state and federal level - all made by republicans, and the tragic end is "its gods will" when infact, these deaths were entirely preventable.

Why am I not surprised? This is par for the course with my experience with Christians.

You mean Evangelicals. They are just rebranding themselves as so-called “Christians” to mask their extremism.

This is just a thinly veiled swipe at Christians. Take your idiotic trolling somewhere else.

Not the OP, but what about this is trolling or not accurate?

My Jesus camp in Florida was on a small lake where they put all the problem alligators from central Florida. A problem gator is one who is too accustomed to being around humans.

The first night of camp, we sat through a 45 min explanation of gator behavior and how to avoid being eaten.

That sounds like Kamp Krusty from The Simpsons.

Nobody here has a problem with Christians. As in people who actually follow the teachings of Christ, meaning to take care of the vulnerable, the poor, refugees, the sick and so on.

We have a problem with FAKE MAGA Christians who seem to think Christ taught them to be selfish, to ignore need and suffering.

I hope that abundantly clears it up for you and look forward to not seeing any more bogus strawman "Liberal DCUM hates Christians" posts, mmkay?

Lots of blame to go around

1) Greedy camp owners knowingly expanded on flood plain and appealed FEMA’s designation of the flood plain on their lane
2) Texas Local government didn’t send out appropriate flood alerts
3) Local taxpayers thought 1mn$ was too expensive for a comprehensive flood system. Now their economy will tank because the world knows that tourism in their area is dangerous
4) Texas authorities had federal money for flood system improvements and didn’t use it appropriately

Logically, that area is now safe for another 100 years.
