Go to any upper el birthday party, “hang”, play date etc and you’ll see nothing but bitter parents who openly hate the administration and dream of the day when they can leave the school.

You can also find these people at Mathnesium, kumon, etc. lamb is definitely creating a cottage industry of tutors.

The school has a long history of retaliating against parents who speak up. I know of parents who were told directly to stop posting on DCUM. the reality is that most parents are really unhappy. Not just because the school does stupid performative stunts like this one, but because it’s just not meeting the needs of its students.

This.

I doubt it. More likely LAMB parents will be even more annoyed than they already are. I'm really not sure why suddenly yoinking away a day of school benefits the immigrant families who attend LAMB but whatever.

I mean like extreme MAGA people , but yes also parents more annoyed than ever.

LAMB is like, "We hate Trump so much we can't have school!"

What?

You're a school. No one gives a shit about your political views. Just do your job.

There is some teacher lecturing parents on Parentsquare who are like WTF AM I SUPPOSED TO DO MONDAY.

Listen lady, if you want to do more to educate people, start by improving those garbage CAPE scores.

Schools aren’t daycares, but given the weak academics you might be better off in one.

I almost never comment here, but my goodness. I do not understand hating a school this much, yet continuing to send your child(ren) there. Wow.

Goodness me! I send my kids to lamb for the dci feed. I don’t understand why you’d drag your judgmental self here. I am allowed to have my very informed opinions on lamb.

You sound like one of those moronic parents who end up at dci bitter af when they realize their kids are in remedial math and English. Wake up- lamb is failing your kids and doesn’t even do a good job with basic childcare. See you at Kumon!!

Well since you are so much smarter than me, why don't you tell us what the school should do knowing teachers and staff aren't going to show up on Monday? Since you are so well informed, I am sure you have a plan that would work for everyone. Please do share.

It’s truly not worth the DCI feed to send your kid to a school for 7 years that you hate.

Happy to! First of all, you realize that many schools in the region received this flyer. There will be a lot of absences Monday. But schools with even halfway decent leaders will let those people stay home to protest. Lamb is far from being 100% Latino. There are tons of mostly white administrators. Those could have gone to school to support the many families who are in dire straits right now. Even if it was mostly a lot of playground time and condensed classrooms, this would have been a much better learning opportunity for students. And since the kids are montessori students, upper el could have gone down to assist in primary.

The decision to close was an easy way for a weak leader to curry favor with their staff at the immediate expense of the students and the long term expense of the school as a whole.

Thanks for that informed opinion about a situation you know nothing about.

Also my kids aren’t at the school for 7 more years. Did you also learn montessori math?

You will be unhappy at DCI too.

I’ve been at lamb a long time. The school shuts parents up this way, by shaming them and making absurd, uninformed predictions.

Being real here- this weird self appointed holiday, done at parent expense, is a sign of serious issues at the school. The teachers at lamb aren’t paid well, and the school is absolutely bloated with administrative staff. The weak leadership has to approve this nonsense to keep a very stressed and underpaid population happy. If I were a parent with a young child, I would be really, really concerned.

Jessica looks every bit as weak as Charis. It's not going to go well for her when she tells the parents she wants to add more professional development days to the calendar.

Couldn’t agree more. Parents will also hit the roof when the weekly half days are announced. I understand that’s a done deal.

I just think it is really gross of a school to give themselves a 3 day weekend in the name of “immigrant rights” when no plans have been announced to do anything helpful for immigrants. Even grosser is the reaction of some self appointed suck ups to levite desperate parents on why this is an important lesson for us to learn.
