Lamb is closing Monday Feb 3

Anonymous
Letting you know since the Parentsquare title is really misleading and just says “Day without Immigrants”. Lamb is closed Feb 3.

There was no notice of this until noon on Friday. There will be no options for childcare so start scrambling now.

Are any other area schools closing on Monday too?

Haha, am I the only one who read the subject line as if it meant LAMB is closing *for good* on Feb 3?

Bahahaha, what?!
Charters are seriously the worst.

Im required to return to the office full time Monday. I cannot express just how awful and stressful my life is right now, and as usual, lamb is as unreliable as always. I agree completely that immigrants are wonderful and valuable to our community. It would be way more helpful if we organized a drive to raise money for those impacted by the deportation raids. However that takes effort and it’s easier to do a meaningless, performative gesture that causes parents to suffer.

I WISH THIS WAS TRUE!!!!!

If they told me I could still send my kiddos to DCI I would leave lamb in a heartbeat and go to a school where they actually educate children.

For real. We're a first-generation immigrant family. We don't need to be reminded of the contribution of immigrants. You know what we value most - the education of our children.

The priorities of the school on full display. Glad we left.

LAMB has turned into a joke.

LAMB family here, and if LAMB really is the only school to partake in this strike, I’m extremely concerned that the school will become a target for criticism from some media outlets, and perhaps even subject to threats.

Go to any upper el birthday party, “hang”, play date etc and you’ll see nothing but bitter parents who openly hate the administration and dream of the day when they can leave the school.

You can also find these people at Mathnesium, kumon, etc. lamb is definitely creating a cottage industry of tutors.

The school has a long history of retaliating against parents who speak up. I know of parents who were told directly to stop posting on DCUM. the reality is that most parents are really unhappy. Not just because the school does stupid performative stunts like this one, but because it’s just not meeting the needs of its students.

I doubt it. More likely LAMB parents will be even more annoyed than they already are. I'm really not sure why suddenly yoinking away a day of school benefits the immigrant families who attend LAMB but whatever.

Me too. And maybe thinking about this for five minutes would have been a good idea. But sure, let’s just drop this Friday afternoon and assume there will be zero pushback. Dumb. This isn’t helping any immigrants. They once again look like fools. I guess we know that the new director is just as weak as the previous 4 (5?).
