Yeah, she became so dull once she dropped her rebel persona and adopted a lady of the manor lifestyle with Brad. And her messaging: noone loves her kids as much as she does, noone works as hard as she does, noone misses their mother as much as she does, noone has been hurt in a divorce as much as she has. I find her completely insufferable now.

To be fair, many of us found her insufferable then too. Just a different kind of attention-seeking behavior these days.

Totally agree! I really wanted to like " Maria" because it got so much buzz at Cannes. But, it was boring AF. Whoever suggested Lady Gaga as a better choice to play the role...spot on!

Pablo's movies are boring

I loved it! Much better then Spencer. I have to watch Jackie again to compare. I am happy he took the advice and took a step back from the imagination stuff he did with Spencer. They took new information about Maria's drug dependency which was probably for the best. That part has always been brushed over but it did contribute to her death. Her Actors on Actors with Cynthia from wicked was a ASMR ride too.

It wasn’t me, but Gaga was also my first thought when I learned about the film. She would have been perfect and looks more like her too. I wonder if she was approached or sent the script.

Pablo doesn't do movies based on similar physical features. He wanted Angelina from the start then had the script written after she agreed.

I found myself forwarding a lot because the movie was so boring. But visually striking.

Gaga can actually sing too. Those ridiculous close ups of Angelina struggle singing

That's nice for Gaga but he didn't want her and obviously has some kind of crush on Angelina based on his interviews. He does these movies for himself and his vision first. Not for others.

Bahahahaha

Would have preferred a bio of Charlie Callas.

Of course. Why make a movie about Callas and cast someone who looks more like her and can actually sing? Makes perfect sense. 😂

Then you aren't familiar with his work. That's why the academy didn't respond well to his previous movies. He let's it slip then gets called out for it many times. He picked Kristen because of her past with paparazzi and cheating scandal like Diana. He picked Angelina because she's a tabloid fodder and has a mysterious aura like Maria.

What was ur first hint. The amount of times he said they stared at each other or how they connected through all their sense the guy is weird and found his ultimate broken muse to try and fix

Only in the Netflix top 10 for a minute. A dud.

+1000 I couldn't watch any of them and I love art films. He is way overhyped.

I'll watch it anyway because I LOVE Maria Callas and grew up listening to her operas. Particularly loved her Carmen.

Also, I don't mind Angelina Jolie. She has high-functioning autism and since my husband and son are also on the spectrum, I have a little bit of sympathy.
