The answer to your question is right here ^^^^^^^^ Why would any sane person want to identify and support a group that just hates them for being alive and told what they think and what they believe. |
That's pretty much my white college boys experience. He's tired of being seen as the problem. Most of his friends are the same. I also disagree with the trad wife expectation, my kid fully understands the economy and how it operates. It didn't help that his HS experience ended during COVID in FCPS with all the crazy prolonged shut downs. |
This. Social Media telling them it's so unfair. |
they are not, they are sick of the "feel good" stories of dems. "hey look I cant even buy a house or car and live with my parents" |
This. They've been brainwashed for the past 10 years by weirdo older men on Youtube, video game chat channels, etc that were funded by billionaire conservatives. Andrew Tate, Prager U, et al explicitly began targeting minor boys with their slanted content. They literally were indoctrinated to start hating women and "others" when they were 14-15 years old. And no one has really written the true story about this. They didn't target teen girls with this content - just boys. |
This, and the pandemic was an accelerant. Spending 2020-2021 in social isolation drove young men to the right for two reasons: First, more extroverted young people could blame Democrats for the pandemic overreach (and I agree it was overreach in retrospect even if it might have seemed the right policy at the time). And second, introverted young men would spend even MORE time going down online rabbit holes. |
DS is 17. Not conservative at all. White. |
My white college boy doesn’t feel that at all. His professors are mostly white men and the students in his science classes are majority white men. The place he interned over the summer had a majority white men staff with the leadership being mostly white men. He lives in a state with a white male governor and the majority of politicians in power in that state are white men. As he said to me, I don’t see the effects of male oppression in action here. |
We expect men to notice their behavior now. They could get away with anything in the past. That is over. Women do expect to be treated fairly. I’m sorry that that’s a problem for white men. |
The indoctrination resonates because the boys are told by the entire education system that they are inherently evil, however. Horrifically, the Tates of the world find a home because at base they tell boys they are valuable, whereas pretty much the entire education system from kindergarten onwards tells boys that they are unwanted predatory garbage. Tate doesn’t exist in a vacuum. |
This is actually very true. I have two boys. Mostly they roll their eyes with all the gender and sensitivity and CIS and white privilege indoctrination they've been receiving since middle school. But it shouldn't be surprising that straight boys who have spent their entire formative years being told they are oppressors end up rebelling. Telling a bunch of 13 year olds that they are responsible for all the evil in the world throughout history isn't particularly helpful. It is going to lead to a very human response. Progressives have been demonizing straight, white boys for a long time. So these boys figure if the left hates them, then they'll explore a different team. Pretty simple. |
The wealthy are causing more divisions among the lower classes. They are good at placing the blame away from them. No one thinks about Bezo getting richer.
The playback is the same. |
Well, perhaps if they had better home training and their parents could translate what folks were trying to prepare them for in the world, they wouldn’t feel that way. Do better, mom |
Change then. |
Video games and the internet took them all down some dark holes that exposed them to a lot of toxic masculinity and radicalized them. |
