That's pretty much my white college boys experience. He's tired of being seen as the problem. Most of his friends are the same. I also disagree with the trad wife expectation, my kid fully understands the economy and how it operates. It didn't help that his HS experience ended during COVID in FCPS with all the crazy prolonged shut downs.

My white college boy doesn’t feel that at all. His professors are mostly white men and the students in his science classes are majority white men. The place he interned over the summer had a majority white men staff with the leadership being mostly white men. He lives in a state with a white male governor and the majority of politicians in power in that state are white men. As he said to me, I don’t see the effects of male oppression in action here.

+1 I have 2 white DS in college (minus the white make governor) who are not threatened at all. But, the college thing is a MAGA talking point. My MAGA brother stopped talking to me because he thought I was placing them in danger by sending them to college. He sends them weird texts and books about how oppressed they are and they pass them on to their group texts and all have a laugh because he is ostensibly paranoid.

Both voting for Dems, one in a swing state. Probably because they see DH who isn’t threatened. He doesn’t think women or minorities are going to take his pie, he just thinks more pie for all to enjoy!

Yeah this must be made up as that is not what guys do. We don’t pass along texts and laugh with our friends. We read the text and then go on with our day……nice try though

I think there is also a huge naivete factor - they have no clue about how much in our society comes because of all of the hard work their predecessors have done. They tend to take a LOT for granted - kind of like that "A Day in the Life of Joe Republican" thing that circulates every once in a while.

I think they know by observing the gender battles going on in front of them. It really is a bizarre and confusing time to be growing up with all the various influences out there. Kids are pretty stupid and can be easily influenced by many things. I would include guys up to the age of 25 in the definition of kids. I’m amazed by the amount of them that are into Andrew Tate.

Because they want better lives for themselves bc they feel entitled to it. The women, the blacks, the gays are stealing their jobs. The patriarchy works for them. They want to be treated like “real men”. They want women to not have the ability to leave them for their bad behavior. They want to have families but have those families be at home in the background. They want to have a wife that will not say anything when they go to the bar, don’t help with homework, don’t drive to soccer practice, etc. They want to be quietly respected as the head of the house- the women and children scared of him.

I’m not the PP, but I read objectively nasty tirades like this and wonder if people like the PP understand how visible their misandry is in their lives. I’ve got Gen Z sons who are not Tate watchers, are doing well in school, and in fact are active in campaigning for Harris. But this PP is not anyone I would want to be associated with. Her own sons, DH, father, and brother must know how deeply she hates them. It is just sad.

We all know the type, and they are genuinely miserable people. I think that she hates young men because she’s at heart a lot like the incels in that group. They have more in common than different.
