Do teens have lots of sleepovers in high school?

I only had a sleepover when I told my mom I was at Larla's but was really at my BF's....

10th grade DS crashes at friends houses some weekends or before early morning practices. Friends sometimes crash here. Not sleepover per se just parents don’t want kids driving at 1am

IME not the planned sleepovers of MS any more, but still sometimes the last minute text ( “is it okay if I just sleep at jimmy’s tonight”) when they are older hs and already out and about. Almost certainly sometimes related to drinking, but I think also just having fun, being tired, wanting to crash rather than get back in car and drive home

Whenever I told my parents I was going to a sleeping over in high school, I was usually out drinking and crashing with the friend whose parents didn’t care when we rolled in.

I'm pretty sure my straight son isn't having sex with his straight male friend.

I can't imagine never staying at my friends houses or vice versa in hs. We did this every weekend! My boys do as well though not as much because they can also socialize via gaming. But when they get to be driving age they tend to crash wherever they are - but they don't call it a "sleepover'. Even my college kid's friends stay the night sometimes when home.

Not all kids have access to a car.

Yes but now we all have tracking on our kids phones.
My recent HS graduate would do age sleelovers a year mainly because they didn’t want to be driving home at 2. Too grades too college no boyfriend no drinking/drigs….they are just hanging out. Honestly if she had a hard seltzer on a Saturday night then slept in her friends basement, I don’t even care. She’s a very good kid and her friends are nice.

Why do you need a car to get to your bf house?

One of my twins (boy) did and the other did not (also boy.) Often it was at our house and the just stayed up late playing video games and eating snacks.

He is. I’m friends with the mom. They live out in the boonies and the only car is the mom’s car. The dogs go crazy whenever a car drives up in the driveway. So unless the boys are hiking out of there on foot (it would take 3-4 hrs to even reach anywhere) they are there all night. They play video games and watch movies.

It’s often a cover for getting drunk, sneaking out, staying out all night, or having sex. That’s gotta be obvious to people thought right??
